P's 2nd Birthday -

We celebrated P's birthday which was on Saturday, July 26th! On Saturday, we had a little party with the Lind family. Unfortunately, stupid me forgot my camera. So, I have to wait until I can get them from my mother-in-law. P got the coolest little train toy from his Grandma & Grandpa Lind. He thought it was awesome and played with it all night!

Today, we went to my parent's house, after church, for dinner and to celebrate some more. P was SO tired and fell asleep during dinner. This video is right before he fell asleep. He is so stinkin' cute!

After a much needed nap, P awoke to find his new bike. It has several buttons and cool sounds ... as you will see in the video below. He loves it and wouldn't leave it alone! Good job, Grammy & Grampy Teeples!

Our 5th Anniversary! -

We celebrated our 5th anniversary on Friday, the 25th! We had a great time. My mom watched P and we went to The Black Swan. We got to stay in the Atlantis suite and it was really beautiful! Anyway, I thought I would put some pictures from our wedding. I wanted this posted on our actual anniversary but I had to scan in all the pictures. Too bad our photographer didn't have a digital camera back then. This is one of the first pictures taken as we walked out the door.

Smooching!!!

Showing off my cute shoes! The butterflies matched the colors for the reception!

J loved this tree so we had to have a picture in front of it! I think it looks great!

Having some yummy food at the luncheon between the wedding and the reception. We are such nerds!

Um ... I thought it was funny!

Our pretty cake! (Fake flowers by the way.) I couldn't find a cake topper that I liked so we used this beaded temple. My cousin found a little light to go under it so it looked really cool!

Goofy kids!

Caught red handed! Patrick and Steven attacking our car. After the wrapping was complete they covered it in whipped cream. All 4 door handles were filled with Vaseline. The car was full of rice and all sorts of things. They glued a ugly Hoola Girl on the dash board. Overall, it was great! Luckily, they didn't put it up on cinder blocks! My car was safely hidden in my grandma's garage so J's car received the brunt of their attack. All in good fun, I guess!

Lovebird Tag! -

1. Where did you and your husband meet? We met in math class at Idaho State University in the Fall of 2002.

2. The first thing you said to each other? I guess we said Hi. We actually sat near each other for about 3 or 4 weeks before we got the nerve to say anything. I wasn’t sure if he was a member of my church and he was a little gun shy about girls because he had just gotten out of a relationship.

3. When was our first date? Our first date was an Institute dance around November 2002. It was called Poor Mans Ball. Whoever asked for the date didn’t have to pay or something like that. I asked J and he paid. We had fun. We just did fun things as “friends” and started dating in January 2003.

4. First kiss? Our first kiss was on Sunday in January 2003. We had gone to dinner at my uncle’s house and then were hanging out at my house. I had never kissed anyone before and had always heard the stories from friends about the “Deer in the headlights” look. J got that look and I just started to giggle. J tried to wait for me to stop giggling but I couldn’t so he just went in for the kiss. I loved it!

5. When were the first "I love yous" said? J said it first in March 2003. I freaked out a little and wasn’t ready but I finally said it back a couple weeks later. Poor boy.

6. Long or short engagement? I think just right. We were engaged for exactly 3 months.

7. Where did you get engaged? J and I started talking about marriage and started making plans. We purchased rings and were looking at apartments before the actual “proposal” took place. When the ring was finished and ready, we picked it up and he took me to the Gazebo at Cotant Park and officially proposed. Funny story: when J’s dad proposed to his mom, they were near a dump. J's dad had an amazing view of the mountains and thought the moment was perfect. What he didn’t realize was that J’s mom's view wasn’t so lovely; she was staring right into the dump. So, when J got ready to propose, he let me pick the view I wanted before he got on his knee. I thought it was really sweet!

8. Where were you married? Idaho Falls Temple

9. Where did you go on your honeymoon? We stayed in a hotel in Salt Lake City and just played around down there. We went to Lagoon one of the days. We had a lot of fun!

10. Where was our first home? Our first apartment was a basement at 1557 S. 3rd # 3 in Pocatello. We purchased our first home on July 31, 2006 … 5 days after giving birth to P. I highly suggest not doing those two things so closely together! It was very stressful!

Pictures from the Lind Family Reunion ... Finally! -

So, my mother-in-law came down this week with her camera. She loaded up a bunch of pictures from the family reunion so I thought I would share them now.
Here is the cabin that we stayed at. Beautiful country!
J's brother, Shane, and our nephew, Sam. Shane is trying to get Sam to stop squirting him with the squirt gun! It was pretty funny!

J and I hanging out with his dad. It kind of looks like I'm striking a pose.

Water Fight!!!

J teaching P about the water gun.

J's sister Maria, cousin's Morgan and Whitney, are going for a walk. P is bringing up the rear.

J's brother, Patrick, taking our niece Breanna for a dip!

Uncle Shane taking a much needed nap.

The girls (me, Laura, Trixi, Heather, Maria, & Ileen) went for a 4-wheeler ride. We stopped at this beautiful meadow but were getting attacked my hungry mosquitoes, so we left.

Grandpa Lind is having fun with the water fight!

One of the few pictures that I have of Grandpa smiling. He doesn't like to smile for pictures.

The men went to shoot their guns and stuff.

A Little Too Excited -

My mom watched P the last two days while I was at Girl’s Camp. She was just about to put P in the bathtub when I called to tell her that I was back in town. She turned on the water and went to put her phone on the table. She was gone but 10 seconds and when she came back, there he was, in the tub! Clothes and all! Silly boy! He loves baths and was so excited that he had to jump in. If you have been reading my blog, then you know that I have mentioned the supernatural powers of P’s blinking shoes. They still work! You’ve got to love Payless!

Girls Camp! -

I am back from Girl’s Camp and I survived! I actually had an amazing time and really had a ton of fun! Tuesday morning, the morning we left, was crazy! J’s mom came to watch P for the first two days. I was busy showing her where everything was and getting her situated. I went to the church to get ready to leave and realized I had forgotten several things and had to come back. Anyway, after a few trips back and forth, I finally was ready to go. Luckily, we had a few slow straggler girls so they weren’t waiting for me!

There is a man in our stake, Kermit Morrison, who let us camp on his land outside of Lava Hot Springs. It is absolutely gorgeous up there and I want to go back. We set up camp and just played around. That night we had our skits. About 15 minutes before skit time, us leaders (me, Earlene Porter, and Danielle Ward) realized that we hadn’t planned a skit so we came up with one really quick, thanks to Earlene! It was basically Earlene going out and setting up the beautiful table for dinner. Then Danielle went out and pretended to eat the meal. My turn came next and all I had to go was give a belch. I am so proud of myself because I belched the loudest, manliest belch I have ever accomplished without the aide of soda! Anyway, the girls and priesthood leaders were absolutely shocked and loved it! In their eyes, I am a quiet and reserved Sister Lind and they hadn’t seen that side of me yet. I am proud to say that I have carried on the tradition of the “Cool Leader That Burps” that my mom began.

The second day we had our 5 mile hike, all up a very steep mountain road. I have asthma and only made it part way before I had to hop into the truck with Earlene and Roger. (It is weird to call him Roger … he will always be President Porter in my eyes!) The views from the top were breathtaking. Idiot me left my camera sitting at camp. Hopefully some of the leaders and girls will share their photos with me. After the hike, we just relaxed and crafted. I got the most enormous sliver and Pres. Porter came to the rescue with his big pocket knife.

The third day we went down to Lava Hot Springs and floated the river. I was very scared and was not sure that I would do it. Much to the pushing of Elisa Payne, our assistant camp director, I went … and had so much fun! Luckily, my tube didn’t flip and I didn’t get scraped up. Sadly, some of the young women did get some scrapes and cuts but nothing serious. Overall, we had a ton of fun. Later that evening, the Bishop led some teamwork workshops for the young women. It was an amazing experience to see them struggle and finally work together to get the task at hand done. The worst part was that we leaders were not allowed to help or give any advice. I had the hardest time because I wanted to help so badly. But, in the end, I realized that I was learning a lesson myself. I realized that I need to take a step back and let them (my young women, my own son, my friends, and my family) make their own choices even if they are the wrong ones. I think that was my very favorite part of the entire camp experience.

The fourth day we just packed up and went home. Hopefully, I can get some pictures to share later. I hope you don’t mind my travel log! Have a great week!

Our Weekend -

Sadly, we forgot our camera so there are no pictures. SORRY! Anyway, we went to Soda to visit with J's family. His sister, Heather, was still there and was going to be leaving on Sunday, so we decided to run up and spend more time with her and her family.

On Saturday, there was a Lloyd (J's mother's family) Family Reunion. We played out at Hooper Springs and ate good food ... again. It seems like all we do is eat! P really enjoyed playing on the toys. He had to be coaxed to go down the slide but he enjoyed it. He also liked the teeter totter for a while. I sat with him on one side and J sat on the other side. All was going good until we decided to walk over to the actual Hooper Spring and have a drink. Actually, I don't drink it because I think it is gross but J and his brothers like it. As you have seen from previous posts, P loves to play with water and decided he was going to take a dip. Luckily, J was right there and stopped him ... only one foot made it into the spring. It wasn't a hot spring so he wouldn't have been burnt but it was deep. Anyway, who wants to drink the water after some kid has jumped in?! I decided it was time to take him home and let him have a nap.

Afterwards, everyone else came home from the reunion and we just hung out and played. Josh always manages to get soaked by the little girls! They love Uncle J because he will play with them and tease them. After a while, the adult children (J, me, Patrick, Laura, Todd, and Heather) decided to get away and go bowling. We had the whole bowling alley to ourselves and had a great time. I had the best time because I won! I never win at bowling so I was pretty excited.

Anyway, that was our weekend. There isn't going to be any activity on here for the next several days because I am heading off to Girls Camp! Yippee! I love camp and am looking forward to it. I'll try to remember to take some pictures and I will update when I get back!

Remember When?!

I just did this on my friends blog and loved it ~ What a fun thing to have friends and families memories of you! So here goes...

1. As a comment on my blog, leave one memory that you and I had together. It doesn't matter if you knew me a little or a lot, anything you remember!

2. Next, re-post these instructions on your blog and see how many people leave a memory about you. It's actually pretty funny to see the responses. If you leave a memory about me, I'll assume you're playing the game and I'll come to your blog and leave one about you. If you don't want to play on your blog, or if you don't have a blog, I'll leave my memory of you in my comments.

4th of July (J's Family Portion) -

We had a fun time in Soda. After lunch at my parents (and a quick nap for P), we headed for Soda. J's sisters, Heather & Maria, were there with their families. We just hung out, ate good, and watched the fireworks. I was amazed to learn, when I married J, that Soda actually has a really good firework display! We went to the park and sat under them. I was a little concerned that P might be afraid of the loud booms and bangs. Amazingly enough, he wasn't scared at all! He LOVED them! It was pretty cute because he kept Oohing and Ahhing and laughing. The family thought it was pretty cute.

We stayed over the night because on Saturday, J has his 10 year high school reunion. They had a picnic lunch at the park where children were invited, then they had a dinner at a restaurant in town, and then they went over to the pub to party. J and I skipped the latter and went home early. Overall, it was fun and we really enjoyed getting to see family. J's sister, Heather, lives in Colorado so we don't get to see her and her family as much as we'd like to.

Now for the pictures, of course, they contain water! Aunt Maria brought a swimming pool up and the kids had a blast in there. P didn't want to go in but he had so much fun splashing from the sidelines.
Getting ready to slap the water.

Post Slap!

P discovered the true use of the squirt gun ... a refreshing drink.

How do you work this thing? (This is exactly why we don't have guns in our home. I can see something terrible might happen. When we do get some guns, I can promise that they will be locked up VERY safe!)

P and his cousin Morgan! She is so stinkin' cute and they got along really well!
Another cute pic of Morgan!

P and his cousin, Sam. Sam is 3 months younger than P.

Splashing Sam!

Isn't Sam cute! (I have the cutest nieces & nephews!)

Momma, Heather, trying to keep Sam dry but P wasn't letting that happen!

Grandma Sugar

Grandpa Grumpy
(He really isn't grumpy, G'ma Sugar called him that and it kind of stuck!)

Having fun.

I just squirted Grandpa, I better run!

My cheesy & extremely handsome man! I love him SOOOOO much!

P's cousin, Gaby, squirting J while he takes her picture.

P's cousin, Sarah, "posing." She looks a little mischievous to me ...

Morgan and Gaby getting J!

Uncle J was a good sport and played with the kids. They all had fun.

P's cousin, Andrew, was there for the weekend but somehow he didn't end up in the pictures. I think he was inside the house or something during the water fight. I wanted to share a picture of him. This is from several months ago but I figured it had to do.

4th of July (My Family Portion) -

For the 4th of July we split our time with both families. We went to my parents house and BBQ'd some burgers and hot dogs. P is such a stinker and wouldn't eat anything. If he senses that we want him to do something, he refuses to do it! I can't complain about him being a picky eater because I put my mom through the same crap when I was young. But, I am getting better now and am starting to try some things that I wouldn't back then! Anyway, here are some pictures from my parents house.
(We need to be better about getting pictures of more than P. Although P is handsome and absolutely wonderful, there are others who we need to acknowledge!)

Goofy face.

NO! I don't want to eat that!

Pretending to pout.

P couldn't fake for long!
