We Want To Know Wednesday

Photobucket

Here are this week's questions:

1.  What is your favorite cookie to eat?
That is tough. I actually have two. My mom and I make a really good No-Bake Cookie. I really love those. My mom makes a really good Oatmeal Chocolate Chip Cookie. Sometimes she puts banana's in them too. They are yummy!

2.  Have you ever done a cookie exchange?
I went to one last December. It was pretty fun. It ended up just being a Girl's Night Out and munching on goodies. That was fun!

3.  How are you doing on your holiday shopping?

Um .... haven't even started. :-/  Actually, that isn't true. We got our family pictures taken and ordered so I guess I've done a little bit.

4.  What is your holiday shopping style? (A little at a time, or power shopper? Early in the season or last minute? Online or part of the crowd?)
I'm a little bit of everything. I start to freak out in the beginning of December and start to do my shopping. I do some online and some in the stores. I've never shopped on a Black Friday or anything like that. I don't do crowds because I get scared and claustrophobic.

And a random seasonal 3 part question...
5.  Light displays...do you put them on your house? What is your style and your fave kind to see?
We're lazy and don't put lights up on the house. I am proud to say that I got my Christmas decor and tree up on December 1st. That is a record for me. I've never gotten it up that early!
As for my "type" of lights that I like? I don't know. I posted a video on Facebook of a house down our street. They are awesome! My boys love to drive by and look at their lights. Click HERE to go to my Facebook page and watch it! Might as well 'Like' my page while you're at it! ;-)

Friday Confessional

It has come to my attention that people weren't able to copy the code for my awesome new button. The issue has been fixed. I hope you'll grab a button! :-) It is in the left column below my contact information!

It's time for some confessions!

I CONFESS that I whined quite a bit in the last couple of posts. Sorry about that.

I CONFESS that I'm having an affair. An affair with Halloween candy. I sneak around and hide it from others. It isn't healthy.

I CONFESS that I am writing this post the night before. I am absolutely dying to know what Mamarazzi's confessions are this week. She gave me a clue that I may be involved in one or two. If it has anything to do with a drug-induced email that I received -- it should be hilarious! ;-)

I CONFESS that I could care less about Kim Kardashian and her divorce. Don't get me wrong. I feel bad for people when their marriages don't work out but I certainly don't need to hear about it on every. single. new. channel. Besides, how can you really know if a marriage will really work or not in only 72 days. I think people give up too quickly anymore.

I CONFESS that I have a major slight addiction to Facebook and the Internet in general. My husband often asks me if I would have a breakdown if we didn't have it. I try to think that I'd survive but I certainly wouldn't like it! Most of my friends live inside my computer! Sadly, it is pretty much the only social life I have.

I CONFESS that I'm about ready to ship the 5-year-old off to a boarding school. He turns into such a needy, grumpy, monster after he's been sick. Do your kids (if you have some) do that? It takes a week or more to "train" him back to normal.

Three For Thursday!

I'm participating in another edition of Three for Thursday with Evelyn!

Three things I stole borrowed from my kids’ Halloween candy stash:
1. Tootsie Rolls. P, the silly kid, doesn't like 'em!! Crazy.
2. Snickers.  I've had an obsession with Snickers since I was a young gal.
3. I usually steal the Nerds too because they are my fav!

Three things I buy that have to be name brand:
1. Dr. Pepper. None of this Mr. Pibb business.
2. I tried the knock-off of Malt OMeal cereals and I am not a fan. Now, I know that the bagged cereals from Malt O Meal are knock-offs but they taste better to me than the "real" stuff.
3. Huh .... I can't seem to think of anything else. I guess that I just usually buy the knock-off stuff.

Three things I spend more than fifteen minutes doing every day:
1. Perusing Facebook.

2. Lately, I've been wiping noses and aiding sick children. That takes forever! ;-)
3. Listening to music

Three things that put me in a fantastic mood:
1. Phone calls or texts from family and friends
2. Winning a game against P on the Wii. The kid kicks my trash!
3. Finding awesome stuff to watch on Netflix. I'm currently going through The Wonder Years!!

Three things I do that a grown woman has no right to be doing anymore:
1. "Running up the dark stairs as fast as I can so the Boogeyman doesn't get me."  I totally stole that from Evelyn.
2. I also have to run and jump into bed so the snakes and monsters don't get me. Ugh. I'm such a baby!
3. Giggling whenever my husband says the word "screw." I do it every time! I'm totally giggling now just thinking about it!

I'M HAPPY to have such a wonderful family!

I'M HAPPY that we were able to have family pictures taken over the weekend. J's awesome brother and his wife took our pics! I cannot wait to see them! :-)

I'M HAPPY to have such wonderful friends. My good friend, Carli, had her baby the other day! I cannot wait to meet the new Mr. in her family!

I"M HAPPY to have a warm home to live in. It has been so cold the last week here in Idaho. It am grateful for my warm bed too. I sure am blessed.

I'M HAPPY for Facebook. Yes, I'm an addict and I'm okay with that. My friends live inside my computer and I enjoy getting to see pictures of their families and hearing about their lives. Facebook has helped me stay connected with people. I love it!

{1} If you had an extra hour to do ANYTHING for yourself each day what would you do?
I should say something like doing housework or reading my scriptures but what I really want is SLEEP. :-)  I like to sleep. Sleep and me are friends.

{2} Are you a morning person or a night owl?
I'm probably more of a morning person. Sometimes I have a hard time getting up in the morning but I really have a hard time staying up late. Ever since having kids, I've definitely become a morning person by FORCE and not by choice.

{3} How much sleep do you get on an average night?
I average between 6 and 7 hours per night. I realize that is pretty good. I definitely struggle when I have babies around. I'm not much of a happy camper when I don't get my sleep.

{4} When do you find the time to blog/surf the ol' interweb?
I usually check my email and Facebook in the morning while I'm eating breakfast. I try to catch up on blogs in the evening after the kiddos go to bed. I've been known to have my laptop out and be surfing around while the kids watch a movie.

{5} What is the ONE thing you're never too busy for?
I'm never too busy to spend time with family. I'll do anything I can to make time for family. Whether it be my kids and husband or my cousins, I'll make the time. I love them too much to miss out!

We Want to Know Wednesday

{1}Do you prefer to text or call?
It depends. I usually make phone calls. There are a few people that I primarily text but most people I just call. It also depends on what we are communicating. It if will take too long to text, I just call them.

{2}What is the last text message in your phone and who is it from?

My friend, Michelle. She was wondering when they will be doing kindergarten assessments on our kids. I honestly had no clue. Not much help. (Can you believe my big boy will be going to school?!?!  I go to an orientation tomorrow and P will start school on the 6th. Where did the time go?)

{3}What are your favorite phone apps?

The most used app is the Facebook app. It is faster than using the browser. I honestly don't have too many apps. My phone doesn't have much memory for storage. :-(  I do have the LDS Gospel Library which is awesome. I have access to all the scriptures, general conference talks, magazines, manuals, music, and other stuff!. I also use the WeatherBug app. It keeps me up to date on the weather in my community. It even sends me alerts when there is a wind advisory or whatever.

{4}At what age do you think kids are ready for a cell phone?

That is a hard one. I didn't get one until I entered into college and I had to pay for it by myself. I think 15 or 16 is a good age. I also think kids should pay for it themselves or at least half of the bill. My parents never bought big things for me. They made me pay for them myself. I, of course, hated it at the time but I am extremely grateful. It helped me appreciate things more and respect the items more.

{5}Share a current pic or video taken with your phone.

Anyone who knows me knows that I am not very crafty. Luckily, my friend, Collete, is helping me explore my inner-woman. ;-)  She taught me how to make this headband. All it is is fabric, a button, and a knee high nylon sock! :-)  We made several for a friend who is having a baby girl!

I am a raspberry addict. If it has raspberries in it, I will knock children over try very hard to get it. I made raspberry freezer jam a couple weeks ago. YUM!

I proclaim that I have the most handsome two-year-old on the planet! LOVE THIS KID!
By the way, any hints on how to handle the Terrible Two's?!?!?!  This kid can turn on a dime. He is the epitome of Jekyll and Hyde.

{1} Which activities make you lose track of time?
Facebook and blogging definitely make me lose track of time! I lost track of time when I was addicted to Prison Break on Netflix. Man, I'm sad and glad that it is over. Not the ending I was hoping for.

{2} Is there such a thing as perfect?
Nope. Not in this life anyway. The only perfect person is Jesus Christ.  All we can do it try to be like him. I've always hated the word "perfect."  I was a pretty well-mannered child and I had several people call me "perfect."  Little did they know that it added a TON of stress and anxiety into my life. I was always trying to maintain "perfect" and would beat myself up if I didn't. I actually ended up in counseling as a young adult trying to deal with it.

{3} When do you feel most like yourself?
I think I am most myself when I am around my family. Especially when I get around my cousins, Jill and Jamie. We have so much fun together and laugh so hard! I love it!

{4} Describe your life in a 6 word sentence.
My life is blessed and wonderful.

{5} Share one of your most beloved childhood memory.
Man, that is really hard! I don't know how to pick just one. I have several great memories. One of my favorite memories is learning how to play softball with my dad. He was great and patient with me. We played MANY games of catch in the backyard. He also worked with me a lot on swinging the bat and hitting the ball. I really enjoyed that.  I remember on particular evening of playing catch. The lawn had been just freshly mowed. My dad was by the house and I was further out in the backyard. I threw the ball badly and it went past him. It hit the ground and kept rolling and rolling and rolling. It hit the basement bathroom window and completely shattered it. I was horrified! I started to cry and thought I was going to be in trouble. Luckily, my dad was very patient with me and didn't blame me. He knew it was an accident. I am forever grateful that he handled it the way he did. :-)

I'd love to hear your answers! Link up and let them know I sent ya!

Friday Confessional

Photobucket

It's time for Friday confessions!

I CONFESS that I'm standing in the kitchen blogging while I make lunch for the boys.

I CONFESS that I am only boiling up some noodles because I don't want to do anything else.

I CONFESS that I am in charge of a family reunion tomorrow. EEEKK!

I CONFESS that it really isn't that bad but I haven't even purchased my portion of the food yet. :-/

I CONFESS that I am getting pretty excited to go lounge on the mountain lake beach and play in the water! I hope the water is warm enough! Our "spring" has been very cold. I hope we don't freeze tomorrow.

I CONFESS that I never have any juicy details to confess.

I CONFESS that I am pretty boring but I'm okay with that.

I CONFESS that I am still addicted to Prison Break on Netflix. I can't watch it fast enough!

I CONFESS that I hate watering my lawn, flowers, and garden. Yard work bores me.

I CONFESS I'd rather be blog hopping or playing on Facebook.

I CONFESS that I have to work on E's birthday. :-(  I didn't even think of requesting it off. Ooops. Oh well. We will party another day.

I hope that all of you will have a fantabulous weekend! Keep it real and be good! ;-)

We Want to Know Wednesday

Welcome to We Want to Know Wednesday Q&A hosted by:

Impulsive AddictJanetteMamarazzi and Seriously Shawn
This weeks questions come from Janette!

{1}Everyone seems to have a quirky family situation-- what is something unique about your family dynamic?
Whenever my family and I go to dinner at my parents house, it is a complete family reunion. I am an only child so that is kind of fun. We have "family reunions" on a regular basis! ;-)  I'm having a hard time of thinking of anything quirky. I guess most kids tend to run to MOMMY when they are hurt or sad but my kiddos run to DADDY. He seems to be more compassionate when it comes to that stuff. I'm usually say, "Well, you shouldn't have been acting like a maniac and you wouldn't have gotten hurt!" I don't know, sometimes I feel bad that they run to J over me.

{2}What is the most stressful aspect to blogging (aside from the network going down)?

For me, it is thinking of stuff to write about. My blog has mostly been a "scrapbook" to share pictures with family. I'm trying to branch out and try some new things.

{3}We all end up on a blog at some point in our day, but name your top 3 favorite websites you flock to daily (non blog)!

Facebook is an obvious one for me. I am an addict and I don't mind telling anyone.
Parent's Shoudn't Text and a lot of the other links at the top of its page. They make me laugh!
YouTube to watch the Shaytards. They do daily vlogs and I love to watch them!

{4}What’s your sign? Believe in it or not, does any part ring true to you?

I am a Gemini. I don't really believe in it. I used to read my horoscopes religiously in the newspaper when I was a teen. It never really seems to "come true" or work so I just stopped.

{5}IceCream!! ICECREAM!! We all scream for ice cream! Name your favorite flavor/brand!

If I am buying some from the grocery store, I usually just purchase the cheapest. I love Rocky Road, Cookies  n Cream, and Mint Chocolate Chip. If I am going to get ice cream, I have a favorite for each place I go. Coldstone Creamery -- I get chocolate ice cream with raspberries and almonds mixed in. Dairy Queen -- Oreo Blizzard.  Tastee Treat -- Hot fudge raspberry shake.  Arctice Circle -- Snickers shake with chocolate ice cream. Can you tell that I LURVE ice cream?!

 BONUS QUESTIONS
A. Name the blog you credit for linking up with us today?

Mamarazzi at *Dandelion Wishes*

B. Suggest a question you want to see in future WWTK’s

When you were a young child or teenager, did you have an idea of how many children you wanted and what their names would be? Did you follow through on your ideas?

Happy List

Photobucket

I'M HAPPY that even though I had to work all day today, it was at least outside! I got to work in Lawn and Garden and it was G.O.R.G.E.O.U.S. today! It is amazing what some sun and warmth can do for the soul.

I'M HAPPY that we got to go to our annual daycare picnic. Our awesome daycare provider put on a great little party.

I'M HAPPY to have such a wonderful daycare provider. She is the best! The other day, Little E was kind of sad as I dropped him off. She picked him up and was hugging him to give him comfort. While I was signing the boys in, I heard her kiss him on the cheek and say, "I love you."  It melted my heart and continues to melt my heart! I know my boys are loved and well cared for! :-)

I'M HAPPY that I was able to get a nap today! After work and the picnic, I was tuckered out. J took the boys outside to play and let me nap. Thanks sweetie! I really needed it.

I'M HAPPY that I upgraded to the unlimited data package on my cell phone. I check my email frequently and surf Facebook quite often. It has been nice to not worry about going over 25MB.

I'M HAPPY that I get to go to my in-laws house tomorrow to celebrate my birthday. My mother-in-law will be out of town on the big day, June 1st, and she wanted to celebrate early. I love my family!

I hope you all have a wonderful weekend! Take care!

P-isms

I post a lot of great stuff on Facebook that never seems to find its way here. Silly tidbits of life, funny things that P does or says, etc. I thought I had better share some of them before I forget. (Actually, I didn't remember all of these. I found an application on Facebook that shows me my history of status'. SWEET!)

  • P said, "Mom! You're huge!"  Rude child!
  • P said, "Daddy, make me a princess!" He was trying to get a blanket wrapped around his waist like a skirt!
  • P said, "I am not a human! Boys are not human!" Oh, the truth he speaks. ;-)
  • P told J that he was going to be a dinosaur for Halloween, E could be a puppy, J could be an astronaut, and he said he wanted me to be a ... wait for it ... sponge. What?!?! That is the best he can come up with? Sheesh!
  • P singing to himself, "I'm gonna be gorgeous today! I'm gonna be gorgeous today!"
  • P was looking sad so J asked him what was wrong. P said, "My prayer wasn't answered." J asked, "What prayer?"  E replied, "I wanted to be a superhero."
  • P said, "Mom! You have huge feet!"
  • I threw a coat on P's head to be silly and he said, "Mom! I'm not a hook!"
  • P walked up to me and said, "Nice ascot!"  We had been watching Toy Story 3 A LOT.
  • I asked P what he was grateful for. He thought for a moment and said, "My eyeballs!"
  • P said, "Mom, you're so cute! I'm proud of you!"  I don't even know what I did but I'll take it!
  • P asked me, "Do you want a dinosaur kiss or a guy kiss?"  I said, " I want a sweet boy kiss."  Preston replied, "MOOOOOOOM! I'm a guy, not a boy!"
  • P climbed into E's bed and started to play. I asked him to get out and he said, "Mom, can I pleeeaaasse say in here and play prison?"  Um, NO! I don't know how you play prison but I don't want to find out!
  • P saw a movie about a fire breather. So he decided he was a fire breather and would supposedly breath fire on all the kids at the mall play area. I'm pretty sure the parents were weirded out!
  • P got two pieces of candy from his Primary teacher on a Sunday. He ran to J after the meetings and showed him the candy. He said that one was for him and one was for J and gave it to him. J had been talking to a gentleman and the man said, "Where's mine?"  P looked distraught, not knowing what to do. He finally took the candy from J and gave it to the man. It was hilarious!
  • P said, "Daddy? Since I'm four, can I have four Christmas trees?"
  • P started to randomly sing one day, "I don't eat poop, it's yucky. I don't eat pee! I like chocolate!"
  • We nearly hit a deer driving home from J's parents house. P saw the herd of deer and asked if we could have one for a pet.
  • P said, "Kissing is yucky!"  Good job man! Keep thinking that for another 18 years!
  • P said, "Mom, a big burp is funny but a small burp is naughty." Um ... ok?
  • P asked, "Mom, do you have a baby in your tummy?"  I said, "No my child. I'm just  fat."
  • P asked his speech therapist why she had a big tummy. I was horrified. She isn't a small lady but she took it in stride.
  • While talking to his 5-year-old, talkative cousin on the phone, P said, "Don't talk so much."

I'm Slacking!

I just realized that I didn't take a single picture of the boys or anything with my actual camera during the month of January! How terrible is that?! I did take some with my cell phone and posted them on Facebook. But, I guess some of you aren't on Facebook and don't get to see them. So, I decided to post them here too!  By the way, if you are on Facebook and are not my friend ... WHY THE HECK NOT!?!?!?!?  If you want to be my friend, let me know and I'll find you.

I took a picture of this beast. It may be small in size but it creates a HUGE amount of pain on a bare foot in the middle of the night! OUCH!  My cousin stepped on her sons toy plane, just like this one, and actually drew blood. She didn't know until morning when she saw blood tracked across her carpet!

GRRRRRR!  Man, I love this kid! He is so flippin' cute and can be such a pain in the butt at the same time!

A group of ladies that I'm friends with at church. The one on the left bugs me constantly on occasion for caramel brownies. I finally decided to have a tutorial of sorts and we invited two other gals! It was great fun! We had yummy taco salad, talked, laughed, and baked.

Here we are before the baking fest began.

My handsome men. Love these guys so much!

On the day that we got our van fixed, we ended up going with P and E's cousins to the dentist office. They had this sweet couch in the waiting room. All of the kids LOVED it! E was pretty darn proud of himself!

P and I drove out to my sister-in-laws house for an ICAN meeting that she was hosting. Click the link for more information if you like. She is very passionate about educating women on all of their options in terms of childbirth. Anyway, the sunset was SO GORGEOUS that I had to take a picture. The picture doesn't do it justice one bit.

Handsome Mr. P! LOVE this kid!
