We Want to Know Wednesday

Photobucket

Here are this week's questions from Queso:

1. Are you a party person? Or do you prefer an intimate gathering with just a few friends?
I don't mind a party with a few friends. 10-15 max. More than that and I get shy and have a hard time talking to people. I actually just went to a cookie exchange party last night! Perfect timing for these questions!

2. Would you rather be a guest at a party or the hostess with the mostess?
I totally want to be the guest. I don't like being the hostess. It is too stressful for me. I have panic attacks even thinking about hosting parties. Unfortunately, we are having a party at our house tomorrow. It is a family thing and I don't even have to be in charge. I just have to provide the place. I am still freaking out.

3. What is your favorite party food or drink? (I'd love to see the recipe!)
I'm a lover of a good shrimp cocktail. I don't drink alcohol so I like to have Diet Dr. Pepper or whatever caffeinated beverage they may have! For my cookie exchange that I went to yesterday, I brought pumpkin chocolate chip cookies. It is the easiest recipe I have EVER seen .... other than buying a box of cookies at the store.

Pumpkin Chocolate Chip Cookies
1 box of Spiced Cake mix
1 can (15 oz) pumpkin
1 cup of chocolate chips (or more)

Mix ingredients together. Use an ice cream scoop to scoop onto a greased cookie sheet.
Bake at 350 degrees for 10-12 minutes.

Seriously. Easy as that and SOOOOOO good!

4. What is the best party you've ever been to?
The first party that came to mind was one when I was young and single. I hung out with a large group of kids from my single's ward at church. We played a ton of games in the back yard and then all crammed into their living room and watched Rat Race. Only one or two people had seen it before, so we were pretty much watching it for the first time. I have never laughed so hard in my life! Love that movie! That was seriously one of the best summers of my single life! We did stuff every night of the week. How I managed to go to summer school full-time, work full-time, and party full-time, I will never know. :-)

5. What is your favorite party game?
I get a kick out of the game, I Never. The group sits in a circle with one less chair than people. The person in the middle shares something that they have never done. (Like, I have never gone deep sea fishing or I have never been to England.)  If anyone in the circle has done it, then they have to get up and switch seats. The person that was "it" can run and grab a chair. Whoever is left standing has to say the next I Never statement. It is pretty funny!
We played it at a ward party once. A guy said that he had never made-out with a man. Our bishop thought that he said, never made-out in a van. So the bishop got up and started running. We all nearly died laughing. He still hasn't lived it down! :-)

Here are this week's questions:

1.  What is your favorite cookie to eat?
That is tough. I actually have two. My mom and I make a really good No-Bake Cookie. I really love those. My mom makes a really good Oatmeal Chocolate Chip Cookie. Sometimes she puts banana's in them too. They are yummy!

2.  Have you ever done a cookie exchange?
I went to one last December. It was pretty fun. It ended up just being a Girl's Night Out and munching on goodies. That was fun!

3.  How are you doing on your holiday shopping?

Um .... haven't even started. :-/  Actually, that isn't true. We got our family pictures taken and ordered so I guess I've done a little bit.

4.  What is your holiday shopping style? (A little at a time, or power shopper? Early in the season or last minute? Online or part of the crowd?)
I'm a little bit of everything. I start to freak out in the beginning of December and start to do my shopping. I do some online and some in the stores. I've never shopped on a Black Friday or anything like that. I don't do crowds because I get scared and claustrophobic.

And a random seasonal 3 part question...
5.  Light displays...do you put them on your house? What is your style and your fave kind to see?
We're lazy and don't put lights up on the house. I am proud to say that I got my Christmas decor and tree up on December 1st. That is a record for me. I've never gotten it up that early!
As for my "type" of lights that I like? I don't know. I posted a video on Facebook of a house down our street. They are awesome! My boys love to drive by and look at their lights. Click HERE to go to my Facebook page and watch it! Might as well 'Like' my page while you're at it! ;-)

Happy List

Photobucket

I'M HAPPY to have a day off of work today! Yay! I'm totally gonna snuggle up and read .... as much as my two-year-old will allow. ;-)

I'M HAPPY for this time of year. Several friends on Facebook are doing 30 Days of Thanks. It helps me to remain positive and ponder about what I am grateful for!

I'M HAPPY to have such a forgiving child. We went to a friends house yesterday. I hung up my coat and purse on her coat rack. I didn't realize that everything was on one side. As I stepped away, it fell over fast and hard ... hitting P square in the forehead. :'-(  Poor guy. He has a huge goose egg on his noggin'. He cried for quite a bit but managed to forgive me. I know it wasn't my fault and it was just an accident but I hate when my kids get hurt!

I'M HAPPY for the movie Bolt. Little man, E, loves puppies and doggies. He gets so excited to watch it. As a matter of fact, he is watching it now so that I can have some bloggy time!

I'M HAPPY that my sweet sister-in-law and her hubby invited us over for dinner on Sunday. I am notorious for being a picky eater. I have grown in leaps and bounds as a married adult though. I am much more willing to try things. Anyway, she was nervous that I wouldn't like the food. Her hubby's ancestry is from Germany. They traveled to Eastern Europe last Christmas and picked up some Hungarian Paprika. Anyway, she made a heavenly Chicken Paprikash and homemade spaetzle! It was awesome!

I'M HAPPY for the opportunity to think about what makes me happy! Thanks Mamarazzi for hosting such an awesome meme!

Three For Thursday!

I'm participating in another edition of Three for Thursday with Evelyn!

Three things I stole borrowed from my kids’ Halloween candy stash:
1. Tootsie Rolls. P, the silly kid, doesn't like 'em!! Crazy.
2. Snickers.  I've had an obsession with Snickers since I was a young gal.
3. I usually steal the Nerds too because they are my fav!

Three things I buy that have to be name brand:
1. Dr. Pepper. None of this Mr. Pibb business.
2. I tried the knock-off of Malt OMeal cereals and I am not a fan. Now, I know that the bagged cereals from Malt O Meal are knock-offs but they taste better to me than the "real" stuff.
3. Huh .... I can't seem to think of anything else. I guess that I just usually buy the knock-off stuff.

Three things I spend more than fifteen minutes doing every day:
1. Perusing Facebook.

2. Lately, I've been wiping noses and aiding sick children. That takes forever! ;-)
3. Listening to music

Three things that put me in a fantastic mood:
1. Phone calls or texts from family and friends
2. Winning a game against P on the Wii. The kid kicks my trash!
3. Finding awesome stuff to watch on Netflix. I'm currently going through The Wonder Years!!

Three things I do that a grown woman has no right to be doing anymore:
1. "Running up the dark stairs as fast as I can so the Boogeyman doesn't get me."  I totally stole that from Evelyn.
2. I also have to run and jump into bed so the snakes and monsters don't get me. Ugh. I'm such a baby!
3. Giggling whenever my husband says the word "screw." I do it every time! I'm totally giggling now just thinking about it!

We Want To Know Wednesday

Welcome to We Want to Know Wednesdays Q&A!
Hosted by MamarazziQueso and Crazymama

This weeks questions are from Crazymama.

{1} How did you celebrate Halloween? Trick or treating? Adult party? Trunk or treat?
We went to a church party on Saturday evening. We let the kids run and have fun. Usually, on Halloween, we take the kids to our local mall to trick-or-treat around to the different stores. It is a pretty popular here thing to do here. It keeps the kid out of the cold weather and keeps them safer. Plenty of people still trick-or-treat around in neighborhoods too. We may start doing that once the boys get a little bigger.

{2} What candy is your favorite/the first thing you steal from the kids?
I usually steal the Snickers and the Reese's Peanut Butter Cups. Who am I kidding?!  I usually will steal most anything. ;-)

{3} What kind of candy do you give out, is it your favorite? or something you know you won't be tempted to eat?
It usually depends. The last couple years I have managed to buy the package with Laffy Taffy, Nerds, and Sweet Tarts. Weird. I usually purchase chocolate.

{4} How soon after Halloween do you take down decorations and put away costumes?
I don't usually decorate for Halloween actually. My decor is more "harvest" or just Fall stuff. I'm really bad about keeping up with the seasons. I actually forgot to take down some of my Spring decor until Summer was almost over. :-/  Oops!

{5} When do you decorate for the next holiday?
As I said before, I usually decorate with fall stuff so I don't start decorating for Winter or Christmas until one or two weeks into December.

Friday Confessional

Photobucket

I CONFESS that I had the best Girl's Night Out last night! My friend, Michelle, and I planned it. We had a chocolate fondue and a cheese fondue. We had the ladies bring things to dip. It was so fun. We had veggies, fruits, crackers, and berries. My friend even brought white chocolate popcorn! It was divine!

I CONFESS that I ate my weight in sugar .... probably more. :-)  It was so worth it though! It was so fun to get away from the kids and have some female interaction!

I CONFESS that I'm going to a craft party tonight. My mom signs up to make craft projects for me for Christmas. The catch is that I have to go with her and make it! LOL! That is okay with me. At least we get to spend time together. :-)

I CONFESS that I stayed home from work today with a little E who has pink eye. Luckily, I've become somewhat of an expert in it. I managed to catch his early and start treating it immediately. Hopefully it won't last too long.

I CONFESS that I'm considering becoming a permanent stay-at-home mom. I work part-time as a cashier but I've noticed that E is struggling. I'm trying to figure out how to supplement our income so that I can stay home with him. I play the piano and am considering teaching it. The problem: I don't know how to teach. Any suggestions?

We Want To Know Wednesday

{1} What is one thing (food or drink) that you MUST have everyday?

Yummy in my tummy! I must have Diet Dr. Pepper. It is what keeps me a sane and reasonably happy mommy and wife. :-)

{2} What is your "go to" food when you don't feel well/need comfort?
The first thing that I thought of was my mom's chicken and dumplings. Just the thought of them comforts me. I don't get them very often, so I cherish them when I do. I usually try to keep ice cream in the house, preferably mint chocolate chip or cookies 'n cream. Ice cream definitely soothes my soul.

{3} Is there a dish that you make that people request when they visit your home/a family favorite?
That would definitely be my mom's famous caramel brownies ... heaven in a pan, I tell you! :-)  Another often requested favorite is my mom's fudge. My cute cousin used to request her fudge all the time but didn't know what it was called. He asked for the soft brown stuff. So, that is what we call it now. Do you see a pattern forming here? My mom is definitely the good cook. She is a great provider of comfort .... food and emotional support as well!

{4} What are 3 foods you have TRIED and do not like and will NEVER eat again?
1 --  I have tried tomatoes on their own and I just don't like them. I can stand tomato sauce on pizza if it is applied sparingly. I just can't stand the acidity of them.
2  --  Mushrooms are just plain nasty in my book. I don't like the flavor and the texture really bothers me too.
3  --  Pure venison meat. I used to like deer meat that my dad would bring home from a hunting trip. However, it has been a long time since he did that. My brother-in-law gave us some elk meat and I made a meatloaf out of some of the ground meat. Way too strong! Ugh. It kind of killed my desire to ever eat venison again.

and our final question comes from Dee@ HomesickCajun
{5} What's one thing that you love to eat that most people would think is weird and/or gross?
I am a major fan on frosty's and french fries. People used to think it was disgusting but it seems to be trending for the last few years. I've been a french fry dipper from early childhood. Another thing I can thank my mom for! :-)
Ever had Cheetos dipped in caramel? Sounds gross and weird but it is GOOD!

Got My BLUE On!

I received my blog swap package today!!! I got so excited when the mailman knocked on my door! I took the package and ran for my camera. Unfortunately, the battery was dead .... LAME!  I tried to wait for the battery to charge but I just couldn't. I decided cell phone pics will just have to do. ;-)

Some cute cards and a magnet that my boys will love!

Hot cocoa that I can sip while I give myself a pedicure!!!  There is also a CTR (Choose The Right) lanyard!

I am so excited about this necklace! I serve with the Young Women and I can't wait to wear it!

My boys are gonna love this cute fish mold! I see fishy ice cubes in the near future!
I never knew that they made a Cookies n Cream jello pudding! I cannot wait to try it!
Mmmmm ..... chocolate! The other present is a cute little notepad. I should have taken the plastic off.

Oh my goodness, look at the cute little bag! SQUEEEE!  Love it!
I got a pretty blue bracelet, some gum, blue pens, and some blue ribbon!

Check out the cute flower. I also got a nice bath scrubber. I can't wait to use it.
(How in the heck do you spell loofa? )

Check out all that chocolate goodness! YUM! I totally hid all of this so none of the boys (grown and small) can find it. It. Is. Mine.!!! ;-)

Here is a pic of all the wonderful stuff together!

Wanna see what I sent Jessica G?  I think you do! ;-)
Click here and go check out her out!  I think we are kindred spirits! I can't wait to get to know her more!
We're already Facebook buddies! :-)

{1} What are 3 must haves for a long road trip?

{2} What was the destination of your most recent road trip?
Our last road trip was Sunday. My nephew was receiving his Eagle Scout award. If you are talking about a trip that last longer than a day, then our last trip was to Denver, CO last summer. ..... yeah, we don't get out much.

{3} What do you miss most about home when on a trip?

I definitely miss my bed and my pillow. I also miss my mom. Yes, I'm a mama's girl and I'm proud of it! :-)

{4} What is the furthest you have traveled on a road trip?

I believe I had been out of high school for a year. My parents and I drove from Eastern Idaho to Northern Indiana. We drove all the way to the Mississippi River. We stayed the night in a hotel and continued our drive to Indiana with a short detour to Nauvoo, Illinois! It was a long trip trip but it was great! I was so excited to see my family who lived there. We also got to tour around Chicago too. It was awesome!

{5} Will you "stop for the largest ball of twine, etc" or are you a "hurry and get there" road tripper?

Before kids, I would have stopped and smelled the roses along the way. Since I've had kids, I just want to get there and NOW! The best investment I ever made was a duel screen portable DVD player. We used that to keep the kids occupied on our trip to Denver last summer. If it weren't for that little bit of heaven, I don't think any of us would have survived the trip. ;-)

Three For Thursday!

Three wedding day memories:
1.  After the sealing, we were outside the temple getting pictures taken. J and I were quite a distance away from the photographer and the hoard of family behind her. I whispered to him that we were finally married and I could grab his butt. So I did. He was so embarrassed but I don't think anyone even saw it!

2.  J and I had never french kissed before our wedding. (It was a rule that I set to keep our hormones in check.)  We drove home from the temple alone. We took a "detour" on the way to the luncheon and made out in a parking lot. :-)

3.  We had so many people attend our reception that we had a constant line for over an hour. I was so tired of standing but it was so great to see so many awesome people!!  (I am an only child and my parents only got to celebrate a wedding once so all of their friends made sure to attend. It was great!)

Three guy movies I actually like:
1.  It isn't a movie but I love to watch UFC (Ultimate Fighting Championship) on Spike tv. I love that pretty much anything goes. Just don't hit below the belt (OUCH!) or grab on to the fence. That is pretty much the only rules I know of. Gotta love a good knockout!

2.  Some might consider The Lord of The Rings a "guy movies." I LURVE those movies!

3.  I like to watch the Rocky movies with J. That and Rambo. He has me well-versed in man movies.

Three things that I will try to sneak into heaven:
1.  Chocolate.

2.  Netflix

3.  Nice, comfy couch.

Three 4th of July traditions:
1.  Going to the parade

2.  Watching neighbors light their fireworks. We get the thrill and don't have to pay for it! ;-)

3.  We usually attend some kind of a dinner or BBQ.

Three words that describe me:
1.  Social Butterfly  - I love to go to activities and talk to people. I do like my alone time too though.

2.  At work, I'm CHEERFUL. I may not always feel that way but I always try to hide it. I hate when I have grumpy or rude cashiers so I try my best to remain cheerful.

3.  Lazy.  There! I said it. Yes, I'm lazy and I'd rather sit on the couch that exercise or do chores.

Three favorite summer time desserts:
1.  I always liked the "jello salad" with raspberries mixed in. You know the one with a container of cottage cheese, a container of whipped cream, and a box of dry jello mix stirred together. Easy and good.

2.  Is cheesecake a summer time dessert? I'll eat cheesecake whenever I can get some! YUM! Add some raspberries and I'll die and go to heaven.

3.  My mom's chocolate cake. She makes the cake and frosting from scratch and it is YUMMY!

Three fictional characters I would like to meet in real life:
1.  Aragorn  - (See Guy Movies above)

2.  The mom from The Work and The Glory series. It would be so hard to live in pioneer times. Ugh.

3.  Harry Potter.  :-)

Three group games that I could play over and over and over again:
1.  Human Foosball. You get a bunch of PVC pipes and line people up on them and play soccer. It is pretty fun.

2.  Ultimate Frisbee. I used to play that all the time in my singles ward days. When I'd get tired, I'd hang out near the end zone and cherry pick to get the goals .... and the glory! ;-)

3.  Capture the Flag.  There are two teams. Each has a designated territory that they are "safe" on. If they cross over the line, the other team can capture them and take them to "prison." The goal is to capture the opposing teams flag and get back to your own turf without getting caught or tagged. I remember playing this with my ward up in the mountains. I never knew my Bishop could run so fast or jump so high over sagebrush bushes! It was hilarious!

Three favorite summer time TV shows:
1. I'm not much of a summer tv watcher. I like the series that go on during the regular fall and spring times.

Three pictures:
My aunt and cousin came from Alaska to visit the first part of June. We went to their hotel and played in the pool. This was E's first time being in a pool.

P would not leave the stairs. He's not a fan of water but had fun splashing.

Silly boys playing with underwear on their heads. :-)

Friday Confessional

Photobucket

It's time for Friday confessions!

I CONFESS that I'm standing in the kitchen blogging while I make lunch for the boys.

I CONFESS that I am only boiling up some noodles because I don't want to do anything else.

I CONFESS that I am in charge of a family reunion tomorrow. EEEKK!

I CONFESS that it really isn't that bad but I haven't even purchased my portion of the food yet. :-/

I CONFESS that I am getting pretty excited to go lounge on the mountain lake beach and play in the water! I hope the water is warm enough! Our "spring" has been very cold. I hope we don't freeze tomorrow.

I CONFESS that I never have any juicy details to confess.

I CONFESS that I am pretty boring but I'm okay with that.

I CONFESS that I am still addicted to Prison Break on Netflix. I can't watch it fast enough!

I CONFESS that I hate watering my lawn, flowers, and garden. Yard work bores me.

I CONFESS I'd rather be blog hopping or playing on Facebook.

I CONFESS that I have to work on E's birthday. :-(  I didn't even think of requesting it off. Ooops. Oh well. We will party another day.

I hope that all of you will have a fantabulous weekend! Keep it real and be good! ;-)

Three For Thursday!

I'm linking up with with Katy! Come join me!

Three things I accomplished this week
1.  I went to a meeting and got A LOT accomplished in planning Stake Girls Camp that is coming up.
2.  I made banana bread! I don't bake or cook much so that is definitely an accomplishment!
3.  I managed to make it to all of my shifts at work this week. I had two shifts last week and I missed both because of illness. YUCKY!

Three things I want to do this summer

1.  Get a tan. MOM, DON"T LAUGH! I don't tan much and it drives me crazy.
2.  Get through Girls Camp without any hitches.
3.  Get to the beach more than once. Not an ocean beach because I live in Idaho but there is a gorgeous, fun lake 2 hours from here. P loved it last year and begged to go back.

Three colors used at my wedding

1.  Periwinkle Blue
2.  Pale Yellow
3.  Those were the main colors that I had. I guess white because of my dress!

Three things I find repulsive

1.  Lady Gaga. Can. Not. Stand. That. Woman.
2.  Tweens dressing like sluts AND the fact that their parents let them out the door!
3.  The fact that MTV is kind of glorifying teen pregnancy with shows like 16 and Pregnant & Teen Mom. They do show some of the difficulties and struggles. However, I can still see some girl thinking, "Hey, there is a way I can become famous or get attention!"  Ugh.

Three things I like most about my body
1.  My tiny wimpy dainty wrists. They are seriously small but I like that they aren't abnormally huge!
2.  My hair color.
3.  My eyes. I think they are a pretty color.  (Can you tell I'm not really pleased with my body at the moment? I was having a hard time coming up with stuff!)

Three chores I make my husband do

1.  He is the toilet and bathtub scrubber. I can't stand it and get a gag reflex.
2.  I actually told him I would mow the lawn if he would do the dishes. That is how much I hate to do dishes!
3.  Most yard work goes to J. He likes that kind of stuff and I don't.

Three recipes

I've decided to add recipes that I would love to try and eat!
1.  White Chocolate Raspberry Cheesecake
2.  Chicken Alfredo
3.  This is just something I want to do again.  Roast corn on the cob on hot coals/fire. YUM!

Three favorite flavors of ice cream

1.  Rocky Road
2.  Mint Chocolate Chip
3.  Cookies N Cream

Three animals I'd like to have (maybe not all at the same time)

1.  Miniature Schnauzer
2.  I'd like to get J a rabbit but I'm afraid it would turn into a hundred rabbits. He once dabbled in hamster breeding for our local pet store. We seriously had 7 fish tank cages FULL of hamsters. I DON'T want to do that again!
3.  A chinchilla. J wants one too!

Three pictures

These are three of my favorite shows growing up!

We Want to Know Wednesday

Photobucket

Welcome to We Want to Know Wednesday Q&A hosted by:

Impulsive AddictJanetteMamarazzi and Seriously Shawn
This weeks questions come from Janette!

{1}Everyone seems to have a quirky family situation-- what is something unique about your family dynamic?
Whenever my family and I go to dinner at my parents house, it is a complete family reunion. I am an only child so that is kind of fun. We have "family reunions" on a regular basis! ;-)  I'm having a hard time of thinking of anything quirky. I guess most kids tend to run to MOMMY when they are hurt or sad but my kiddos run to DADDY. He seems to be more compassionate when it comes to that stuff. I'm usually say, "Well, you shouldn't have been acting like a maniac and you wouldn't have gotten hurt!" I don't know, sometimes I feel bad that they run to J over me.

{2}What is the most stressful aspect to blogging (aside from the network going down)?

For me, it is thinking of stuff to write about. My blog has mostly been a "scrapbook" to share pictures with family. I'm trying to branch out and try some new things.

{3}We all end up on a blog at some point in our day, but name your top 3 favorite websites you flock to daily (non blog)!

Facebook is an obvious one for me. I am an addict and I don't mind telling anyone.
Parent's Shoudn't Text and a lot of the other links at the top of its page. They make me laugh!
YouTube to watch the Shaytards. They do daily vlogs and I love to watch them!

{4}What’s your sign? Believe in it or not, does any part ring true to you?

I am a Gemini. I don't really believe in it. I used to read my horoscopes religiously in the newspaper when I was a teen. It never really seems to "come true" or work so I just stopped.

{5}IceCream!! ICECREAM!! We all scream for ice cream! Name your favorite flavor/brand!

If I am buying some from the grocery store, I usually just purchase the cheapest. I love Rocky Road, Cookies  n Cream, and Mint Chocolate Chip. If I am going to get ice cream, I have a favorite for each place I go. Coldstone Creamery -- I get chocolate ice cream with raspberries and almonds mixed in. Dairy Queen -- Oreo Blizzard.  Tastee Treat -- Hot fudge raspberry shake.  Arctice Circle -- Snickers shake with chocolate ice cream. Can you tell that I LURVE ice cream?!

 BONUS QUESTIONS
A. Name the blog you credit for linking up with us today?

Mamarazzi at *Dandelion Wishes*

B. Suggest a question you want to see in future WWTK’s

When you were a young child or teenager, did you have an idea of how many children you wanted and what their names would be? Did you follow through on your ideas?

Three for Thursday

Three of my favorite Pandora.com stations
How bad am I that I haven't listened to Pandora? I usually hear a song that I like on the radio and then put it on my iPod. So, I'll just give you some general styles of music that I like.
1.  I like Linkin Park. I enjoy the stuff they are doing now but I also enjoyed their "harder, screaming" stuff too!
2.  I'll admit that I kind of like the Pop stuff that you hear all the time on the radio. That is all they play at work so that is all I hear!
3.  I really love to listen to Singers/Song Writers like Christina Perri. I love to hear someone singing along to a piano. Sometimes songs just get too techno and I like the acoustic stuff.

Three lessons learned since I have graduated from high school
1.  As long as it took, I've finally realized that it doesn't really matter what people think of me. I dwelt on it a lot and still do at times. I've finally started to be comfortable in my own skin.
2.  Cliques or social groups really don't go beyond high school and I am grateful for that! I've managed to become friends with the then "popular" people from high school. It is nice to be able to put that high school cattiness behind me.
3.  I learned that I really could be a mom. I wanted to be a mom but was terrified to actually become one. I was an only child and wasn't around little children much. I wasn't very comfortable and had a hard time relating to kids. It was amazing how quickly that subsided. I managed to start acting like a blubbering idiot within hours of P being born! Now, I do it to any little one that comes through my check out line at work!

Three people I was remembering on Memorial Day

1. My Maternal Grandfather. He is still living and is a big part in my life. I love that man and I appreciate the wonderful person that he is. He served our country and I am very grateful for that.
2.  I took time to think about and appreciate my other grandparents and great grandparents who have passed. My parents made sure to have them be a big part of my life. For that I am grateful.
3.  I had my husband's grandmother in my mind. She just passed a couple months ago and it was pretty hard on him. They were very close as he grew up. She was a wonderful, sweet lady!

Three favorite YouTube videos

1.  My first is actually a Channel on YouTube. It is the Shaytards. They are a family who lives in my hometown who do daily vlogs. They've done one every day for two years and counting. I think they are fun to watch and I enjoy it.
2.  I really enjoy watching Flash Mobs. I just posted a link to a search query of several flash mob videos. One day, I'd love to be in a flash mob!
3.  I saw THIS video the other day and it made me happy. I'm glad there is still some good sportsmanship around!

Three bad habits
1.  I bite my fingernails.
2.  I'm a picker. I've got to get the boogers out of my kids nose. I've got to get the toe jam out of between their toes. I also have to get the wax out of their ears. I don't know why but I just have to do it!
3.  Laying in bed, when I should be getting up and getting ready, and checking my email or browsing Facebook. I end up laying there for longer that I wanted and then have to rush to get me and the kids ready.

Three foods I will NEVER put in my mouth

(For some reason, I'm having a hard time thinking of things! I don't like a lot of foods but can't think of them!!)
1.  Crickets or any bug for that matter. Blech!
2.  A tomato. I can handle the sauce in moderation. For some reason, I just don't like the taste or the acidity.
3.  Dog or cat. I know it may be a delicacy in some parts of the world but I refuse to eat a pet!

Three things that sounded like a good idea at the time

1.  Doing full-time summer school in college AND hanging out with friends until 1:00 AM every night AND work. I don't how I managed to function but I did. I wouldn't trade it for a second because I loved those friends that I "played" with!
2.  Planting a garden. Now I keep forgetting to water it! I sure hope we have something grow!
3.  The remodeling of our family room a few years ago. We are certainly not rolling in the $dough$ so it took quite a while. We would buy supplies when we had some cash. The remodel project took over a year to complete. I HATE living in a construction zone. The only reason it finally got done was because I insisted that it be complete before E was born. I didn't want tiny baby lungs breathing in construction dust!

Three plans for Father’s Day 2011

1.  Thank my hubby for being such a great daddy and get him a little something.
2.  Thank my daddy and J's dad for being such awesome men. We have been truly blessed.
3.  I'll go to church and probably spend the day with family.

Three things that make me a “mean mom” (aka a GOOD mom)

1.  I don't let my kids treat me like crap. They may end up in timeout a lot but I don't care. They will learn respect. That is definitely lacking in our society anymore.
2.  I don't let my kids watch whatever they want. Sure, we watch too much plenty of TV but I don't let them watch scary/gross/naughty stuff.
3.  I don't let me kids eat a lot of crap. Sure, they get plenty but I make sure they eat their dinner too!

Three pictures
E on his first birthday! He loved his cake and was/is so stinkin' cute!

P on his first birthday. Man, he got messy! He's getting yummy Diet Coke!

A pretty flower I saw while hiking in the Grand Tetons last year.
