{1}Do you prefer to text or call?
It depends. I usually make phone calls. There are a few people that I primarily text but most people I just call. It also depends on what we are communicating. It if will take too long to text, I just call them.

{2}What is the last text message in your phone and who is it from?

My friend, Michelle. She was wondering when they will be doing kindergarten assessments on our kids. I honestly had no clue. Not much help. (Can you believe my big boy will be going to school?!?!  I go to an orientation tomorrow and P will start school on the 6th. Where did the time go?)

{3}What are your favorite phone apps?

The most used app is the Facebook app. It is faster than using the browser. I honestly don't have too many apps. My phone doesn't have much memory for storage. :-(  I do have the LDS Gospel Library which is awesome. I have access to all the scriptures, general conference talks, magazines, manuals, music, and other stuff!. I also use the WeatherBug app. It keeps me up to date on the weather in my community. It even sends me alerts when there is a wind advisory or whatever.

{4}At what age do you think kids are ready for a cell phone?

That is a hard one. I didn't get one until I entered into college and I had to pay for it by myself. I think 15 or 16 is a good age. I also think kids should pay for it themselves or at least half of the bill. My parents never bought big things for me. They made me pay for them myself. I, of course, hated it at the time but I am extremely grateful. It helped me appreciate things more and respect the items more.

{5}Share a current pic or video taken with your phone.

Anyone who knows me knows that I am not very crafty. Luckily, my friend, Collete, is helping me explore my inner-woman. ;-)  She taught me how to make this headband. All it is is fabric, a button, and a knee high nylon sock! :-)  We made several for a friend who is having a baby girl!

I am a raspberry addict. If it has raspberries in it, I will knock children over try very hard to get it. I made raspberry freezer jam a couple weeks ago. YUM!

I proclaim that I have the most handsome two-year-old on the planet! LOVE THIS KID!
By the way, any hints on how to handle the Terrible Two's?!?!?!  This kid can turn on a dime. He is the epitome of Jekyll and Hyde.

Happy List

Photobucket

I'M HAPPY that we made it through an entire hour sacrament meeting without having to take E out! It was fabulous! :-)   I wonder what is wrong with him ....

I'M HAPPY that I was able to attend a Celebration of Life (funeral) for a family friend. It was nice to laugh and share good memories. He suffered a long battle with a rare form of cancer. I am HAPPY that he isn't suffering anymore.

I'M HAPPY that I have such a sweet family. My boys are so stinkin' cute that sometimes I can't even breath. Well, not really but you know what I mean. Sometimes just the thought of how much I love my family can take my breath away.

I'M HAPPY that I got to go on a date with J on Friday. We were going to go on a bike ride but our tires were flat. :-(  LAME!  We decided to go to dinner instead. We also did a little thrift shopping and found me a couple of nice blouses for church. I was getting tired of the same two shirts.

I'M HAPPY to have had a weekend with my family without having to work. It was nice.

I hope you all have an amazing weekend. Love you all!

Friday Confessional

Photobucket

I CONFESS that I've been so busy with work lately that I haven't confessed in a long time!

I CONFESS that I've missed it. A Lot.

I CONFESS that I'm hurrying through this because I have to go to work. Yet again.

I CONFESS that I have a new addiction. I was addicted to Prison Break on Netflix but that ended. Now, I'm addicted to 24!!  I can not believe I didn't watch it when it originally aired!

I CONFESS that I was about ready to throw the towel in and run away from home last night.

I CONFESS that E has been driving me crazy. The little stinker is definitely making his mark in the Terrible Two's. Man, that kid has a ginormous set of lungs and knows how to use them.

I CONFESS that J and I are going on a much needed date tonight!  Nothing fancy, just a bike ride. I can't wait!

I CONFESS that J and I are taking a Strengthening Marriage class at our church. It reminded me how important dates can be and that we need to continue to do fun stuff like that.

I CONFESS that I made a salad last night for a Relief Society function. Why is this significant? I usually buy a bag of salad and call it good. Or I do the standard jello salad. BORING! Last night I made this strawberry spinach salad with a balsamic vinaigrette. I'm lazy and I hate to cook, so the fact that I took that much time to make a salad is pretty darn good for me!

What do you have to confess? Click the button on top and join in the confessing fun! :-)

{1} Did you live in the same town or move around a lot as a child?
I was born and raised in the same town. I still live here! I love it here and don't want to move. :-)

{2} What were your parents like?

My parents are very kind, loving people. :-)  My dad was self-employed my whole life. He first was a real estate agent and then trained to become a real estate appraiser. He is now retired. We did a lot of stuff together. He got his brokerage to sponsor my softball team. He was almost always at my games. Sometimes on Saturday's, when my mom worked, he would take me to to go bowling, shoot pool, or play miniature golf. We also shared time together volunteering our time to help with local track and field meets. It was fun!
My mom is truly my best friend. I love her more than I can ever express. She worked full-time in order for our family to have health insurance. I know it killed her to not be home with me but she did what she had to do. We spent a lot of time together. Whether it was caring for the garden or going down to her friend's house for a Diet Coke. Oh, much time was spent at Becky's having a Diet Coke and running around in her yard. :-) My mom and I remain close and still spend time together. I don't know what I'd do without her!

{3} Do you have any siblings? What were they like growing up?

No, I am an only child. My mom suffered from infertility and after four years of struggles and one miscarriage she was finally able to carry and give birth to me. They tried for more but had no success. I have the same issues but doctors have learned so much more since then. Because I didn't have siblings, my parents made sure I had plenty of time to spend with my cousins. I consider them to be my brother's and sisters.

{4} Share a short story from your childhood.
Darn, I wish this was more specific. I don't know how to narrow it down one. .... One of my greatest memories is of going fishing with my family. My dad and I would go fishing on Saturdays. We would leave bright and early in the morning when it was still dark. We would go to the South Fork and fish the river for trout. YUM! One time we were fishing what we called the Pump Hole. We had to drive down about 40-50 feet to our parking spot. So there we sat, fishing and cursing the ones that would get away. We heard a truck drive by, a common occurrence. All of the sudden we heard crashing through trees and brush. We thought a big rock had come rolling down the mountain. It was actually a HUGE moose. It had been spooked by the car and came running down in our direction. We startled the moose just as much as it did us. I was totally ready to dive into the river (keep in mind that I can't swim) to save myself from being stomped to death by the moose. Luckily, he stood there for a few moments and then bolted off down the river. SO SCARY! That moose was seriously only 10 feet away from us.
Found on Google Images ... His rack was seriously that big!

{5} What did you look like? (share a childhood pic for a chance to win a prize)

This is a pic of me and my great grandmother!!

Girl's Camp Pic's: Part 3

President Reese and President Davenport getting the girls to do silly things.

The Pres. singing a song for their talent. It was about chickens. It was pretty funny!

We thought it would be funny if Pierce was the only one who liked them! :-)

The dangers of taking a nap during Girl's Campy. This guy got his toenails painted!

While the judges deliberated, they danced around.

1st ward got an honorable mention award. Note the huge bottle of hand sanitizer that I (Howie) gave him. :-)

The Presidents got the Kick The Bucket award. :-)

The Winners!

12th ward's mail box. The interior was decked out with an animal print collage as well.

I think this was 5th wards mailbox

3rd wards milk bucket .... erm ... mailbox. So original!

8th ward's mailbox

6th wards mailbox. Also very original. The mail got placed into the hands!

2nd Ward's mailbox. I loved this one. Each girls face was displayed on the flowers!

Ellen and I relaxing for a minute. We were pretty darn busy!
Do you like our hoodies?!  J designed it!

Some gals at the card making station we had. This was a very popular spot to sit, chat, and make mail!
The gal on the right is J's cousin! She was a leader in 6th ward! Love her!

One of the finished blocks.

Some more fearless leaders!

Our Stake flag. We wrote the words in tape and then cut out tracings of our hands. Then we used spray paint. I think it turned out so cool!

Here are the bracelets that Pres. Davenport made! It was really cool!

Carla  AKA  C-Dawg

WORD! LOL, what nerds!

Another skit. They were depicting a leader falling down the hill during a hike

Another skit

Ah, the infamous 1st ward skit. That fine "woman" would be their Bishop. :-)  He was a good sport.

They were doing a magic show. They had just sawed their assistant in half. Note that I, Howie, was passed out from the horror of the blood and germs. :-)

I arose from my fainting spell and managed to "call my therapist." I then proceeded to pass out. The fine "woman" came to my rescue.

Trying to give me CPR. I managed to "come to" just before mouth-to-mouth was performed.

A group of girls singing

I assume they are singing. We had the Junior Leaders teach a camp song to the younger girls during each flag ceremony and roll call. :-)
