We Want to Know Wednesday

{1} What game show have you always thought you could be on and totally WIN!
I always wanted to do Double Dare on Nickelodeon as a kid. Do you remember that show? The kids would compete with parents and answer questions. Then they had to go through obstacle courses and get slimed and stuff. That is honestly what came to mind first.

{2} Do you have a tattoo(s)? What are they and what made you chose them? If not, would you get one, yes/no/why?
Nope, I don't have any tattoos. I won't ever get a tattoo because I really have no desire to go through that pain. Also, I'm afraid I would hate it in a year or two. Plus, once you get old and saggy, it won't look the same!

{3} What is your favorite piece of jewelry that you own?

I honestly don't own much jewelry. I'm pretty much a tomboy and don't wear any. The only thing I do wear is my wedding ring. I got to help pick it when J and I got engaged. I love it!

{4} What is your driving pet peeve(s)?

What ISN"T my driving pet peeve? LOL! I get annoyed at most anything. If a person sits at a light while it turns green, I get grumpy. If someone drives too slow, I get grumpy. If someone drives too fast for snowy/rainy conditions, I get grumpy. If someone doesn't use their turn signal, I get grumpy. I really could go on and on!

{5} What was your favorite sitcom growing up that you wish was still on?

This is hard. I really liked a lot of shows. The first one that popped into my mind was Growing Pains. I loved to watch that show. It used to be on when I was at school. I remember seeing once when I home from school with the flu or something. I managed to be "sick" quite a bit before my mom caught on. Oops!

So, what are your answers? Why don't you play along?

We Want To Know Wednesday

Welcome to We Want to Know Q&A Wednesday

We recently dropped our Satellite service. Finances just wouldn't allow it anymore. I thought I would die but I actually haven't. Thank heavens for Netflix. It fills the entertainment need. ;-) So my answers will be based on my current situation.

{1} What is your MUST SEE show?
My must see on Netflix, at the moment, is 24. I'm on Season 7!  When we had TV, my must see was Top Chef! I LURVE that show!

{2} What shows are you most excited to watch this season?

I wish that I could be watching America's Next Top Model .... hey, don't judge! ;-)  As soon as I finish up 24, I'm going to start watching Glee. I've seen a couple episodes and I like it so far!

{3} How many hours a week do you actually watch TV?

Way too much. I really need to get a life beyond the television. Ugh.

{4} Do you think TV has gotten too "racy" (vulgar, pushing the limit, etc) ?

Absolutely. It is frightening what you see on some shows. I'm not going to name any specifics though. Everyone has the right to watch what they want. My fear is my children stumbling upon these things. Not only are the shows vulgar or racy, they are becoming a lot more violent.

{5} How many TVs do you have in your house?

We only have one and I plan on leaving it that way. However, I've been watching Netflix on my laptop so I guess you could say we have two. Darn, I just broke my rule!

We Want to Know Wednesday

Welcome to We Want to Know Wednesday Q&A

This week's questions are from Queso

{1} If you could be on any game show what would it be?
Ever since I was a kid, I've wanted to be on The Price Is Right and play Plinko!!!  Survivor would be fun for the mental game but I'd probably get voted off because I'm not very strong.
{2} If you could choose to stay any certain age forever, what age would it be?
I'd probably say 24. I think it was around then that my body changed and I started to feel "older." I'd like to keep my body from the age 24 but keep my mental state and continue to grow and learn.

{3} What were you doing 30 minutes ago?

Taking a shower and getting ready for work.

{4} What would i find in your fridge right now?

A large case of Diet Dr. Pepper.
A HUGE bowl of fresh raspberries that a neighbor gave me. I'm gonna make jam!!! YUM!
Farm fresh eggs from my brother-in-law's house! With his chickens and my eggs from WIC, I haven't had to purchase eggs in ... I don't know how long!
I'm sure there is something molding too. I'm not good about cleaning out the fridge. ;-)

{5} If you were a piece of furniture what would you be? why?

I think I'd like to be a nice, comfy couch. I chose that because I hope that people would come to me when they need a moment to relax. I hope to be a person that people can rely on and can share their happiness and their frustrations. I want to be that person.

{1} Who would you call if you had to get bailed out of jail?
Hmmm ... you'd think that I'd call my hubby but I think I'd be too embarrassed! I'd probably call my mom. She's my best buddy and she'd help me. Although, she might be my partner-in-crime, so then I'd have to call J!!

{2} If you were a superhero what would your hero name be?

Oh man, that is a good question. I wanna be like Peter Petrelli on Hero's. He had the ability to absorb other people's powers and use them all. I guess I could be Osmosis Girl or Absorption Jane or something!

{3} What do you think is one of your best qualities?

Hmmm .... I think my compassion for others is a good quality. I care for others and try to help out. I asked J what my best quality was and he said my humor. That is another good one. I try to keep things light and make people laugh. Some days I can, other days I can't.

{4} What song would you pick to be your own personal theme song?
I love Ben Folds song, The Luckiest! It makes me think about my sweet hubby! We just celebrated our 8th anniversary on Monday, July 25th!  I love him so much!!! :-)

I also really love the DHT version of Listen to Your Heart.  It is so true. Don't go with what the world says, listen to your heart!

{5} What celebrity do you think is most over rated?
William Shatner.  Sorry to any Trekkies. I can't stand the guy. He can't act worth beans!! People think he's fabulous and I just don't see it.
Let's not even get me started on female reality tv stars who throw themselves at men and degrade themselves. Ugh. No thanks.

Three For Thursday!

Three wedding day memories:
1.  After the sealing, we were outside the temple getting pictures taken. J and I were quite a distance away from the photographer and the hoard of family behind her. I whispered to him that we were finally married and I could grab his butt. So I did. He was so embarrassed but I don't think anyone even saw it!

2.  J and I had never french kissed before our wedding. (It was a rule that I set to keep our hormones in check.)  We drove home from the temple alone. We took a "detour" on the way to the luncheon and made out in a parking lot. :-)

3.  We had so many people attend our reception that we had a constant line for over an hour. I was so tired of standing but it was so great to see so many awesome people!!  (I am an only child and my parents only got to celebrate a wedding once so all of their friends made sure to attend. It was great!)

Three guy movies I actually like:
1.  It isn't a movie but I love to watch UFC (Ultimate Fighting Championship) on Spike tv. I love that pretty much anything goes. Just don't hit below the belt (OUCH!) or grab on to the fence. That is pretty much the only rules I know of. Gotta love a good knockout!

2.  Some might consider The Lord of The Rings a "guy movies." I LURVE those movies!

3.  I like to watch the Rocky movies with J. That and Rambo. He has me well-versed in man movies.

Three things that I will try to sneak into heaven:
1.  Chocolate.

2.  Netflix

3.  Nice, comfy couch.

Three 4th of July traditions:
1.  Going to the parade

2.  Watching neighbors light their fireworks. We get the thrill and don't have to pay for it! ;-)

3.  We usually attend some kind of a dinner or BBQ.

Three words that describe me:
1.  Social Butterfly  - I love to go to activities and talk to people. I do like my alone time too though.

2.  At work, I'm CHEERFUL. I may not always feel that way but I always try to hide it. I hate when I have grumpy or rude cashiers so I try my best to remain cheerful.

3.  Lazy.  There! I said it. Yes, I'm lazy and I'd rather sit on the couch that exercise or do chores.

Three favorite summer time desserts:
1.  I always liked the "jello salad" with raspberries mixed in. You know the one with a container of cottage cheese, a container of whipped cream, and a box of dry jello mix stirred together. Easy and good.

2.  Is cheesecake a summer time dessert? I'll eat cheesecake whenever I can get some! YUM! Add some raspberries and I'll die and go to heaven.

3.  My mom's chocolate cake. She makes the cake and frosting from scratch and it is YUMMY!

Three fictional characters I would like to meet in real life:
1.  Aragorn  - (See Guy Movies above)

2.  The mom from The Work and The Glory series. It would be so hard to live in pioneer times. Ugh.

3.  Harry Potter.  :-)

Three group games that I could play over and over and over again:
1.  Human Foosball. You get a bunch of PVC pipes and line people up on them and play soccer. It is pretty fun.

2.  Ultimate Frisbee. I used to play that all the time in my singles ward days. When I'd get tired, I'd hang out near the end zone and cherry pick to get the goals .... and the glory! ;-)

3.  Capture the Flag.  There are two teams. Each has a designated territory that they are "safe" on. If they cross over the line, the other team can capture them and take them to "prison." The goal is to capture the opposing teams flag and get back to your own turf without getting caught or tagged. I remember playing this with my ward up in the mountains. I never knew my Bishop could run so fast or jump so high over sagebrush bushes! It was hilarious!

Three favorite summer time TV shows:
1. I'm not much of a summer tv watcher. I like the series that go on during the regular fall and spring times.

Three pictures:
My aunt and cousin came from Alaska to visit the first part of June. We went to their hotel and played in the pool. This was E's first time being in a pool.

P would not leave the stairs. He's not a fan of water but had fun splashing.

Silly boys playing with underwear on their heads. :-)

We Want To Know Wednesday

Welcome to We Want to Know Wednesday Q&A hosted by:

Photobucket

{1} What was the last thing you searched for online?
My friend needed a mutual friends new address. I couldn't find it so I looked it up on whitepages.com.

{2} If we visit your home state, what is one MUST we should do before leaving?
Hmmm .... I think I'd send you to Lava Hot Springs, ID. They have natural hot springs that you can sit in and soak. I believe there are three pools and each are at a different temperature. It is very relaxing! Then, you could hit the Olympic-sized swimming pool and ride the slides and jump off the platforms. I'd also suggest renting a life jacket and a tube and taking a float down the Portneuf River. There are some rapids so it is fun!

{3} What do you think pharmaceutical companies should invent a pill for that isn't on the market yet?
I'd have to a cancer antidote. It would work toward ALL cancers. Now, realistically, I know that won't happen but a girl can certainly hope!

{4} When was your first kiss? Was it good or bad?My first kiss was with J. Yep, he is the only boy that I've ever kissed! I didn't date much and was really shy so I never got to that point with anyone else. It was kind of weird. My friends had told me how guys get a "deer in the headlights" look in their eyes before they kiss you. I was sitting there with J and he totally got that look. I started to giggled and couldn't stop! He tried to wait for me to stop but I didn't stop. He finally just dove in for the kiss. Now, me being the non-kisser that I was, I didn't know what do to. All I had ever had was little "chicken pecks" on the lips. So I pursed my lips and J went for a more opened mouth kiss and managed to completely cover my lips with his. Oops! After the evening was coming to a close, I told him lets try it again and we got it much better that time! :-)

{5} What is your guilty pleasure tv show that you can not miss?
Right now, I am pretty much watching Prison Break on Netflix. (Yes, I'm still working on it!) I also can't miss an episode of Top Chef or any other variation of Top Chef! LOVE IT!

Welcome to We Want to Know Wednesday Q&A hosted by:

{1} What is the best or worst pick up line you have ever been given?
I never really received any pick up lines. One of the most annoying ones I've heard of was: "Did it hurt when you fell from heaven? Because you look like an angel."  I think that one is pretty lame.

{2} What is your most and least favorite day of the week?
My favorite day would probably be Sunday. I rarely work, I get to go to church, and I get to spend time with family!
My least favorite day .... I don't know. I guess Saturday IF I have to work. Otherwise I like it just fine.

{3} How many hours of sleep do you require each night?
I prefer to get 8 or more but that doesn't happen very often. I usually end up with 6 or 7. I get pretty tired if I only get 6. Lately, I've been getting 6 because I am addicted to Prison Break on Netflix. (This is why my link up is so late! I can't stop watching!)

{4} Is there a song that takes you back in time? What song is it & what's the memory attached?
It would have to be the song, I Just Called To Say I Love You by Stevie Wonder. It reminds me of first grade. My teacher loved this song. Each of our desks had name tags on them. She changed them every once in a while. For a time, we had little telephones. The hand piece was attached by a string. She'd play that song and sing. Whenever the chorus would come on, we'd pick up our "phones" and sing along. It was fun and it was one of my few memories of first grade!

{5} What is your biggest guilty pleasure?
Probably watching reality shows. I love Top Chef, Top Chef Masters, America's Next Top Model, etc. Right now my guilty pleasure is watching Prison Break on Netflix. I'm seriously addicted and watch at least 2 episodes a night if I can. :-)

Three for Thursday

Three favorite items of clothing
1.  Jeans
2.  Fitted t-shirts
3.  Tennis shoes.  Can you tell I'm a comfy gal and don't dress up much?! ;-)

Three things in my house that I wish were self-cleaning

1.  Bathroom!  Oh, I would totally love that!
2.  Kitchen.  I hate to do dishes with a passion. That would be nice.
3.  Kid bums. I'd love not to have to change diapers and or wipe bums!

Three favorite summertime lunches

1.  My mom makes a mean chicken salad that I just LOVE!
2.  She also makes another really yummy chicken salad with grapes and cashews. It is great!
3.  In the late summer, I love to have a tuna fish sandwich with corn on the cob and green beans sauteed with bacon. YUMMERS!

Three things my children say that they picked up from me

1.  Oh crap!  It doesn't bother me much but it bothers my mother-in-law.
2.  Darn it!  Hey, at least it isn't a different word! :-)
3.  Did you sleep good?  I think I must ask that every morning because P always says that to E. :-)

Three good movie recommendations

1.  If you haven't watched The Lord of The Rings trilogy, YOU MUST! I think they are awesome!
2.  Tangled. Even in a house full of boys, we love it! :-)
3.  The Karate Kid with Jayden Smith. We LOVE it! Now, J and I really love the originals but I really like this one. We watch it A LOT.

Three inexpensive date night ideas

1.  Going to the temple. You can also have dinner in the cafeteria in the temple near me. It is a reasonable price and tastes good.
2.  Go for a scenic drive. J and I used to take lots of drives up into the mountains. We would always try and find a great view of the valley and watch the sunset over the reservoir. We haven't done that much since we had kids.
3.  Take a picnic to a park or even in the backyard and just talk.

Three favorite flowers
Lilacs.  LOVE the smell!

Pansies.
I even had them on our wedding cake!

Petunias.

Three places I'd like to visit

1.  Alaska. It is so pretty (at least from the pictures I've seen) and I have family there.
2.  I'd love to visit New Zealand. It looks gorgeous and J has an old mission companion who lives there. Besides that, The Lord of The Rings was filmed there!
3.  England. J served his mission there and I'd love to see his old stomping grounds.

Three good habits that I practice
1.  We have family prayers with the boys every night. I'm glad that we made that a habit from when P was just a tiny baby.
2.  I had a bad habit of saying some swear words several years back and managed to stop. It is amazing how it can become a habit. So my good habit is not saying them! However, I am not perfect. One still slips out when I have anything scare me. :-/
3.  I make sure my kids are settle at the table with breakfast and dressed for the day before I hop on Facebook or blogs. Otherwise, they stay in jammies all day! ;-)

Three pictures

I think I'll share 3 of my favorite tv shows. Some have ended. :-(

Go on over to The House of Estrogen to play along!

Friday Confessional

Photobucket

Sorry, I'm behind as usual.

I CONFESS that I just ordered 8 tons of gravel to be dumped into my driveway. We are doing raised box gardens and want to put gravel down under the part where they will be. We also plan on doing some decorative gravel  stuff along the perimeter of the backyard. Should be lots of work ......  What did I get myself into?

I CONFESS that I leaped for joy when I saw all these boys so excited about the dump truck and the possibilities of what to do with all that gravel! I remembered how excited my cousins got about trucks and tractors. I'm glad I was able to fulfill a little "manliness" into their lives today! ;-)
Hmmmm ..... Child Labor! ;-)

I CONFESS that those aren't all my boys. Four of them live in our basement apartment. One of them is their cousin spending the night. The other in the back and the one cut off at the left are mine! :-)

I CONFESS that we watched Bolt! tonight. How I love that movie! The hamster, Rhino, makes me laugh .... a lot.

I CONFESS that I have been enjoying the nicer weather that we've been getting around here. The warmth and sunshine brings happiness to my soul!

I CONFESS that I don't have anything very juicy to share. I must live a pretty boring, yet happy, life.

WHAT DO YOU NEED TO CONFESS? Go join up with Mamarazzi and Glamazon!

Friday Confessional

Photobucket

I CONFESS that I worked outside today in my store's Lawn & Garden department. It snowed last night and made for a VERY cold day! It was windy and overcast.

I CONFESS that I immediately hopped into a hot tub of water when I got home. Thank heavens, J was home to watch the kidlets!

I CONFESS that I missed my weekly family breakfast this morning. Every Friday, my grandparents invite all of our family to this restaurant for breakfast. We meet at 7:30 so that those who work can still make it to their jobs. I had to be to work at 8:00 so I couldn't go. I love the time I get to spend with family!

I CONFESS that I went to a fundraiser dinner tonight out of guilt. The local Boy Scout and Cub Scout troop in my neighborhood was having a spaghetti dinner and silent auction. I was so afraid that they wouldn't have many people show up so I went. HOLY COW WAS I WRONG! That place was packed! I'm excited for our troop to get so many donations! They deserve it!

I CONFESS that I have watched Tangled more times than I can count ...... and that I'm okay with that ..... so far. I love this movie and I haven't gotten sick of if yet. I know I will eventually because I've gotten sick of all the Pixar movies because my boys watch them so much.

I CONFESS that I am enjoying the new people that I've gotten to meet through doing some of Mamarazzi's link-ups! It has been fun corresponding with them through comments and emails! Keep 'em coming ladies!

We Want To Know Wednesday

Photobucket

I love doing these posts! It is so fun to tell people about myself and even more fun to learn about others!  Here are the questions that I get to answer today!

{1} What is the first thing you notice about the opposite sex? Are you an eyes or a smile person? Maybe another body part?
You know, I actually notice eyes and teeth. Nothing better than a nice looking face! ;-)

{2} If a movie was being made about you who would you like to see cast to play you? And would your movie be a comedy, drama, romantic-comedy, action film or a horror movie?

My life isn't all that exciting but I'd hope it would be a romantic-comedy. I like humor in my life and thrive on it. Who would play me? I've always loved Holly Hunter and J said I kind of looked like her once. It may be a stretch but I'm okay with that. She's pretty!

{3} Does your high school yearbook include a senior comment section? If so share what you said about your future goals. Have you met those goals? If you do not have a yearbook just share what your goals where when you were 18 and if you have met them. If you’re brave enough include your Senior Picture!

My yearbook didn't have a comment section. I think my goals leaving high school was to be come a television producer. I went through one semester of college before changing that idea. I always wanted to get married and be a mom. Yay! I managed to meet one of my goals! I was so afraid of turning into an "old maid" but managed to find the love of my life, J! We met in math class in college!
As for the Senior Picture, you better believe I'm brave enough! Sorry for the poor quality. My scanner didn't love me this morning.
What the crap?!?!  I have the same hair! ;-) Can you tell that I don't like change? Want to know the reason I chose this certain picture? With my arms folded, I felt as though I looked confident. As I shared last week, I was pretty scared around people and NOT confident. I wanted my picture to look that way in hopes that I could become confident.  (By the way, do you love my farmer's tan?!)

{4} What latest trend simply baffles you?

Skinny jeans and leggings. Can't stand it! Now, if you are skinny enough to pull it off, then go ahead. Working in retail, I get to see all types of people, styles, and body shapes. Some people are just not meant to wear skinny jeans and leggings, yet they try. It ruins it for everyone.

{5} When you walk into a room how do you present yourself? Do you walk in with confidence and command the attention of others or do you slink in and do your best to go unnoticed?

I still tend to enter quietly. Once I get a chance to get my bearings and feel comfortable, then I can open up and goof off. One time I managed to enter a room with my hair up in a faux-hawk! It was for a Halloween party and it was awesome. Hardly any adults were dressed up, just kids, but I managed to rock it!

Friday Confessional

Photobucket

I CONFESS that I'm getting to this post late because I had to work and had a grumpy 21-month-old

I CONFESS that I am sitting here eating a bowl of mint chocolate chip ice cream with butterscotch topping all of the top.

I CONFESS that I LOVE the shows Top Chef and Top Chef Masters! Any cooking show is fun to watch but I love those two the most

I CONFESS that even though I love to watch cooking shows .... I hate to cook!

I CONFESS that I'm not a fan of Easter. It is supposed to remember our Savior and is resurrection. It is not about a bunny leaving all sorts of candy.
I CONFESS that I hope my prior comment about Easter won't offend anyone. Whatever you do in your homes is cool. I just don't "celebrate" it much in mine.

I CONFESS that I'm nervous for tomorrow. J has an art project that he MUST work on and get done. His deadline is coming fast. The boys hang on him and he has a hard time getting anything done, so I've got to keep them busy and figure out what to do. I really don't want to leave town because gas prices are terrible. Luckily, my tenant/friend suggested doing a picnic with our kids. I'm excited to have some fun with the kids and be able to spend some time with an adult!

I CONFESS that I really love doing the Friday Confessional!

The Weekend

Over the weekend, we went to J's parents house to watch part of General Conference. We spent time with family, watched conference, ate good food, and we also watched Tangled. That was the first time I had ever seen it and I L.O.V.E.D. it! Such a good one!

During the movie Tangled, J's mom gave the little one's a bath. Here is E with his cousin. They are just 3 months apart! I love his cheeser grin!

E has decided that playing in one of the toy boxes is pretty fun! We find him in there quite frequently.

Here are E, J, and their cousin watching Tangled. (This was before the bath but I hate trying to move around pictures on Blogger.)

Here is P cheesing it up while having a snack. Man, I love my boys!

Day 6: A picture of a person you'd love to trade places with for a day

I'm not really an Oprah fan. I rarely watch her show. However, she has the ability to spread the word about what she is passionate about. If she loves or hates something, you will definitely know it. She contributes a lot to different charities and does many good things. Her large bank account wouldn't hurt either. ;-)

Day 3: A picture of the cast from your favorite show

What can I say? LOST was the best show ever made! I remember seeing the commercials for it when it was going to start. I remember thinking that it was going to be the dumbest show. How do you make a show out of a plane crash? I was thinking Gilligan's Island or something. Anyway, from Episode 1 they had me hooked! There was always something going on and keeping me wondering WHAT THE HECK?! I'm so sad that it is over. I have yet to find a show to take its place.
