Happy List

Photobucket

I'M HAPPY because J got his big art job done. My cousin's husband asked him to draw a picture. The picture contained 8 people and a temple. Quite the undertaking but he managed to get it done a week before the due date! :-)

I'M HAPPY that I got to see my cousin when we delivered the picture. She has a 12-day-old, sweet baby girl! It was wonderful to get to hold such a sweet, tiny little girl! :-)

I'M HAPPY that I don't have to work tomorrow. Normally, I work around 5 hours per shift. Today, I had two shifts and was at work for 8 hours and 45 minutes. My feet and body aren't used to that!

I'M HAPPY that May is coming around. We will be celebrating J's birthday and my parents wedding anniversary on the 5th! My good buddy, Carli, will be celebrating her birthday on the 2nd. She forced me taught me to believe that her birthday was the best day of the year and that mine was merely the 2nd best day of the year. ;-)

I'M HAPPY that I don't have to teach the lesson at church tomorrow! It is nice to be able to just sit with the Young Women and be taught!

I'M HAPPY to have a nice home. It isn't very clean but I feel very blessed to even have a home. I need to try and remember my blessings more often.

I'M HAPPY to have a furnace to keep me warm because Spring seems to have gotten lost!

What is making you happy this fine weekend?

Friday Confessional

Photobucket

I CONFESS that I worked outside today in my store's Lawn & Garden department. It snowed last night and made for a VERY cold day! It was windy and overcast.

I CONFESS that I immediately hopped into a hot tub of water when I got home. Thank heavens, J was home to watch the kidlets!

I CONFESS that I missed my weekly family breakfast this morning. Every Friday, my grandparents invite all of our family to this restaurant for breakfast. We meet at 7:30 so that those who work can still make it to their jobs. I had to be to work at 8:00 so I couldn't go. I love the time I get to spend with family!

I CONFESS that I went to a fundraiser dinner tonight out of guilt. The local Boy Scout and Cub Scout troop in my neighborhood was having a spaghetti dinner and silent auction. I was so afraid that they wouldn't have many people show up so I went. HOLY COW WAS I WRONG! That place was packed! I'm excited for our troop to get so many donations! They deserve it!

I CONFESS that I have watched Tangled more times than I can count ...... and that I'm okay with that ..... so far. I love this movie and I haven't gotten sick of if yet. I know I will eventually because I've gotten sick of all the Pixar movies because my boys watch them so much.

I CONFESS that I am enjoying the new people that I've gotten to meet through doing some of Mamarazzi's link-ups! It has been fun corresponding with them through comments and emails! Keep 'em coming ladies!

We Want To Know Wednesday

Photobucket

I love doing these posts! It is so fun to tell people about myself and even more fun to learn about others!  Here are the questions that I get to answer today!

{1} What is the first thing you notice about the opposite sex? Are you an eyes or a smile person? Maybe another body part?
You know, I actually notice eyes and teeth. Nothing better than a nice looking face! ;-)

{2} If a movie was being made about you who would you like to see cast to play you? And would your movie be a comedy, drama, romantic-comedy, action film or a horror movie?

My life isn't all that exciting but I'd hope it would be a romantic-comedy. I like humor in my life and thrive on it. Who would play me? I've always loved Holly Hunter and J said I kind of looked like her once. It may be a stretch but I'm okay with that. She's pretty!

{3} Does your high school yearbook include a senior comment section? If so share what you said about your future goals. Have you met those goals? If you do not have a yearbook just share what your goals where when you were 18 and if you have met them. If you’re brave enough include your Senior Picture!

My yearbook didn't have a comment section. I think my goals leaving high school was to be come a television producer. I went through one semester of college before changing that idea. I always wanted to get married and be a mom. Yay! I managed to meet one of my goals! I was so afraid of turning into an "old maid" but managed to find the love of my life, J! We met in math class in college!
As for the Senior Picture, you better believe I'm brave enough! Sorry for the poor quality. My scanner didn't love me this morning.
What the crap?!?!  I have the same hair! ;-) Can you tell that I don't like change? Want to know the reason I chose this certain picture? With my arms folded, I felt as though I looked confident. As I shared last week, I was pretty scared around people and NOT confident. I wanted my picture to look that way in hopes that I could become confident.  (By the way, do you love my farmer's tan?!)

{4} What latest trend simply baffles you?

Skinny jeans and leggings. Can't stand it! Now, if you are skinny enough to pull it off, then go ahead. Working in retail, I get to see all types of people, styles, and body shapes. Some people are just not meant to wear skinny jeans and leggings, yet they try. It ruins it for everyone.

{5} When you walk into a room how do you present yourself? Do you walk in with confidence and command the attention of others or do you slink in and do your best to go unnoticed?

I still tend to enter quietly. Once I get a chance to get my bearings and feel comfortable, then I can open up and goof off. One time I managed to enter a room with my hair up in a faux-hawk! It was for a Halloween party and it was awesome. Hardly any adults were dressed up, just kids, but I managed to rock it!

Patience or the lack thereof

I'm not known for having much patience. Just ask my husband and children! They will tell you, well at least the husband would. What are some things that I don't have patience for you ask? Well, I'll tell you!

The first thing that I don't have patience for is crying children in a movie theater. One time J and I were at a movie (before we had kids) and a baby in front of us started to fuss. Now, I can understand a little fussing but this lady would NOT leave the theater. The baby squawked for a good 10 minutes before she finally took him out! I couldn't pay attention to the movie which I paid a good amount for. I got so flustered that I actually expressed my frustrations out loud. I don't know if she heard me or not but J was horrified. He was so embarrassed of my actions but I couldn't help it. I've tried to be better. Once we had children, I made the decision that I wouldn't take my children to the theater with me. P didn't attend his first movie until he was 4-years-old. I wanted to make sure that he'd be able to sit still for the entire movie and not make a scene. Luckily, he did amazingly well ..... it helped that it was the cartoon Toy Story 3 as well!

Another thing I don't have patience for is bad drivers. I will openly admit that I have road rage. I don't get to the point that I'd pull a gun on someone or anything but I can get pretty heated. I try to keep somewhat cool and collected while the kids are in the car but sometimes I blow my top and yell. I can't stand when people are too busy looking at their phones to realize that the light turned green. I get pretty hot and bothered when people drive under the speed limit or if they don't use their turn signals. I think that I've gotten a little better since I've had kids ... hopefully.

I think I'll share one more. It isn't necessarily the last but I'll spare you all the rest. In my church, on the first Sunday of the month, we church members are given an opportunity to bear our testimony. I was always taught that we are to bear our testimony about our Savior. Some people choose to use the time to express their appreciation for friends (which can be okay), some people get up there and give travelogues of their family vacation, and some people get up there and talk about their health problems. I understand that people like to share but I, personally, feel that it is a time to express our love for and our belief in our Savior. J gets embarrassed of me because sometimes I get grumpy. I would never ever say anything to these people but I sometimes can't sit there. I feel bad but I get so flustered that I sometimes I have to leave and "get a drink" or "use the restroom."

I hope this doesn't offend anyone. It certainly wasn't my intent. I just started to think about patience and realized that I really don't have much of it! Hopefully I can work on that. What do you have patience for or what do you not have patience for?

Happy List

Photobucket

I'm Happy: because I got to spend Saturday with a good friend. She lives in our apartment. We had an Easter egg hunt for our collective six boys. Then we had some lunch. Then we took the kids to a large park with lots of toys and rocks to play on. While we were there, we realized the zoo was open so we took the kids in to see the animals. It was a long, fun day!

I'm Happy: because I got to spend Sunday with J's family. We went and had dinner with all of his family except for his sister who lives in Colorado. We sure wish they lived closer. :-(  We also had another egg hunt for the kiddos. The weather was GORGEOUS! We sat outside all afternoon in the sunshine. I have sure missed that!

I'm Happy: because I have an anonymous Easter Bunny. We came home from J's parent's house to discover a TON of Easter eggs in our back yard. We have no idea who did it. I'm wondering if it is the same anonymous friend who left us an extremely wonderful Christmas present on our porch. ...... ????

I'm Happy: to have such cute boys! Here is a pic of E and his cute little cousin on Grandma Sugar's bridge

I'm Happy to have such a cute little Easter Bunny!

Friday Confessional

Photobucket

I CONFESS that I'm getting to this post late because I had to work and had a grumpy 21-month-old

I CONFESS that I am sitting here eating a bowl of mint chocolate chip ice cream with butterscotch topping all of the top.

I CONFESS that I LOVE the shows Top Chef and Top Chef Masters! Any cooking show is fun to watch but I love those two the most

I CONFESS that even though I love to watch cooking shows .... I hate to cook!

I CONFESS that I'm not a fan of Easter. It is supposed to remember our Savior and is resurrection. It is not about a bunny leaving all sorts of candy.
I CONFESS that I hope my prior comment about Easter won't offend anyone. Whatever you do in your homes is cool. I just don't "celebrate" it much in mine.

I CONFESS that I'm nervous for tomorrow. J has an art project that he MUST work on and get done. His deadline is coming fast. The boys hang on him and he has a hard time getting anything done, so I've got to keep them busy and figure out what to do. I really don't want to leave town because gas prices are terrible. Luckily, my tenant/friend suggested doing a picnic with our kids. I'm excited to have some fun with the kids and be able to spend some time with an adult!

I CONFESS that I really love doing the Friday Confessional!

We Want To Know Wednesday

The theme of the Q&A this week is Friendship:

{1} Do you make friends easily?
{2} What 3 qualities are a must in a friend?
{3} What makes you a good friend?
{4} Have you ever met a bloggy friend in real life?
Yes? tell us about your meet up. No? who would you love to meet?
{5} Who is your best friend? Tell us about them.

1.  I do more now than I used to. In elementary, junior high, and high school, I was terrified to talk to people. If I needed to call someone, I'd freak out. I didn't do stuff on the weekends and hang out ... UNLESS someone invited me. I never had the guts to call people and ask if they wanted to hang out or if I could tag along. Now, I did have friends and once I knew them I was able to be myself. But I had a really hard time getting to know new people. In my first year of college, it was the same way. Finally, my parents got me into some counseling and I was diagnosed with having a social anxiety disorder. I was put on some medication to help me with my panic and it helped with the physical symptoms (shaking limbs, shaking voice, sweating, etc.). Over the next year, I managed to be able to start making friends easier. Now, still with the aid of medication, I'm able to make friends easily and visit with strangers/acquaintances.

2.  Qualities a friend must have is a sense of humor, honesty, and loyalty. I try my darnedest to emulate these qualities because that is what I desire.

3.  I believe that I'm a good friend because I am extremely loyal. I still keep in contact with friends from 3rd grade and will continue to. I think I have a pretty good sense of humor and that is what I love in others. I LOVE to laugh with friends. Nothing is better that coming home from a girls night with a face that hurts because you've been laughing so hard!

4.  Nearly all of the blogs that I follow are of people I've known (in person) for years. I take partial credit for FINALLY getting Evelyn at Hanging By A Silver Lining to blog! I pestered her for quite some time before she finally started! I knew she was a fabulous writer from early on! She used to write the funniest notes to me in junior high! :-)  Anyway, since she has created quite a following, I've started to blog stalk surf people in her list and have started to enjoy a few bloggers that I haven't met. Mamarazzi looks like an awesome woman who I'd get along well with!

5.  One of my best friend's is J, my husband. He has so much patience! I seriously have only seen him lose his cool two or three times in our almost eight years of marriage! He listens to my impatient outbursts, my weeping sob stories, and my silly stories. He treats me right and I couldn't ask for more .... except for maybe more ice cream.  I'm on a mint chocolate chip ice cream kick lately!

My other best friend is my mom. We have an amazing relationship and I love her so much! We share so much in common. We laugh with each other and we cry on each other's shoulders. I don't know what I would ever do without her. I love you, Mom!

I'm A Vlog Noob

Photobucket

So, I've never "Vlogged" before. I love to watch the Shaytards and am quite addicted to it actually. I saw that my good friend, Evelyn, from Hanging By a Silver Lining was doing this and followed it back to Mamarazzi. I decided to join in. Hopefully, I don't look too yucky.

Happy List

Photobucket

I've done the Friday Confessional for a bit and decided why not participate in the Happy Lists! I need to try and remember the good, happy things!

  • I'M HAPPY to have such a wonderful family!
  • I'M HAPPY to have two of the cutest little boys I've ever seen!
  • I'M HAPPY to have a job even though I'm not pleased to work this evening.
  • I'M HAPPY that my husband has a job and that we manage to survive.
  • I'M HAPPY that I discovered Angry Birds even though I end up staying up way too late playing it.
  • I'M HAPPY that little E is sleeping right now because he has been such a grumpy little stinker lately.
  • I'M HAPPY that the sun is out! Hopefully, warmth will come with it soon!

Friday Confessional

Photobucket

I CONFESS
that I am totally pumped for this weekend! I'm driving to my cousin's house in a couple of hours to hang and play! Then, we're going to a baby shower for my other cousin! Then tomorrow, we are having a big celebration for my grandpa's 80th birthday and we're also celebrating my grandparents 59th wedding anniversary! We are having a big family breakfast, family pictures, and a big party! I can't wait to see my family!

I CONFESS
that I just registered P for Kindergarten and I almost cried! I can't believe he is old enough for school! According to his awesome preschool teacher, he is totally ready academically. Hopefully, he'll do well emotionally and socially! :-) If you are in the same town as me, check out her website HERE. She is awesome!

I CONFESS
I can be a pretty grumpy mom at times. I'm not the fun mom who does all sorts of arts and crafts or lets her kids help her make dinner or cookies. Does that make me a lame mom? I hope not.

Pinewood Derby, Baby!

My Young Woman have been asking to have a Pinewood Derby for a year or two. We finally decided to arrange to have one. We called up the Boy Scout Office and scheduled a day for the race track. Once it was official, the girls got pretty excited. We got them their kits and offered any help that they might need. All of the girls wanted to do their cars with their parents. So, we just waited for the date. We invited all of their families to come. It was really fun! I came to the church, where the track was located, full of anticipation as to what type of cars we would see. I was hopeful for pink and lots of glitter and I was NOT disappointed! HAHA!

Check out this rockin' pink shoe! Quite fabulous if you ask me!

The owner of this car has never been seen without a book in her hands, so this car fits her perfectly!

Bedazzled baby!  The young woman wanted us to make sure that we saw the Captain American symbol on the "hood" of the car.

Getting ready for a race. The one on the far left was an amazingly glossy black and purple zebra print. The male judges were quite partial to the Batmobile on the right!

The car on the left was mine. I built it about 5 years ago for a family derby. And when I say I, I mean J built it and helped me with painting it. My poor car didn't fair so well. I had it set incorrectly on the track. It went careening off the track of broke the wheel off. *Sniff*

The green car on the left was a dominator! It won every race and the derby! The sweet Herbie car on the right was also mine. The girls let my little P race a car with them. J also made this one about 5 years ago! It didn't fair well either. Half way down the track, Herbie's wheel came off. :-(  I guess we should have greased the wheels and maintained them during their 5 year retirement!

Over all, we had a fun time! The girls enjoyed racing cars and eating yummy treats. P enjoyed getting to race and also run around with another boy his age. E ended up getting taken to my parents house because he nearly took a dive off the stage. Luckily, our wonderful, attentive neighbor, Kort, was watching and caught him in time. :-/

The Weekend

Over the weekend, we went to J's parents house to watch part of General Conference. We spent time with family, watched conference, ate good food, and we also watched Tangled. That was the first time I had ever seen it and I L.O.V.E.D. it! Such a good one!

During the movie Tangled, J's mom gave the little one's a bath. Here is E with his cousin. They are just 3 months apart! I love his cheeser grin!

E has decided that playing in one of the toy boxes is pretty fun! We find him in there quite frequently.

Here are E, J, and their cousin watching Tangled. (This was before the bath but I hate trying to move around pictures on Blogger.)

Here is P cheesing it up while having a snack. Man, I love my boys!

Friday Confessional

Photobucket

Oh man, I didn't mean for a whole week to go by between posts. Oh well, I've been in a blogging slump lately.

I CONFESS
I have a messy house. Not like some people who say they have a messy house and they only have a couple things misplaced. I mean FOR REAL! There is stuff lying everywhere, the table has mounds of crap on it, and toys lay strewn about the house for days on end. I hate to clean. Yet, when I do clean, I feel better. Sheesh. I wish it would just clean itself . Wait! I just wish i could snap my fingers like Mary Poppins! Now that would be awesome!

I CONFESS
I'm a jealous person. If someone gets a new(er) car, I want one too! If someone gets a new cell phone, I want a new one too! If someone has a baby, I want to have one too!  It gets to be too much sometimes. I wish I could just be happy with what I have.

I CONFESS
I get down and depressed with the snowy winters. It gets dark so early and I hate it. Luckily, the light is coming back and staying longer! Give me summertime, baby!
