Fun With The Girls -

On Saturday, J went to help his brother lay tile in his new house. I knew that I wouldn't be very helpful and P would just get in the way, so P and I took a trip to IF to play. We spent time with my cousins, Jamie and Jill, and their families. We just hung out and visited, watched the kids play, made my mandatory trip to Johnny Carinos for lunch, and played at the park. P and Kyler had plenty of fun but I think Jamie, Jill, and I had even more fun. Here are some pics from our time at the park.

Jill and Jamie having way too much fun on the tire swing. The funnest part, for me anyway, was watching them try to get on the silly thing. I stayed away from this "fun" because I get motion sickness really easy.

I've never seen such a big swing with a buckle. (Maybe I don't get out much.) Anyway, I just had to sit in it for a pic ...

I love these girls so much! I consider them my sisters and love them to bits. They are so fun to hang out and visit with. I love their husbands too and am so glad to know them.

Unexpected Project & Some Other Pics -

While drywalling our family room, we discovered that there was, what we thought, a small leak. We knew it was from water dripping off the roof and soaking into some wood. J went and bought some metal flashing and was going to fix the problem real quick. When he pulled up the siding, he discovered that the pressed wood underneath was completed rotted and soft. So he kept pulling up the siding until the dry rot had stopped. See the picture below:

So what we thought was going to be a quick fix turned into a mad dash to fix it before the rain or snow that was forecasted for that night. We ran to Home Depot and got all the supplies that we needed and got to work. My sweet mom came and got P when she got off work and took him to her house. Then I was able to help. We were pounding in the pitch black night until about 9 PM. The picture below is the finished product until it warms up enough to paint. We eventually want to put new siding on the whole house but that will be a while from now. We've got to save our pennies.


We've been sick at our house off and on for about three weeks. P has been housebound for the past week (due to bronchitis and a sinus infection) and has been going stir crazy. The other day it was warm enough to be outside for a little while so we decided to let him play for a bit.

This bike sat out in the yard getting snowed on for a couple months. Amazingly enough, the batteries still worked and he was jamming to the tunes and honking the horn. He was very excited to be outside and was very unhappy when we made him come in. With his bronchitis, he will start coughing so hard that he throws up. So, when he runs too much or plays too hard he starts coughing and then throws up. YUCK! Anyway, it has been a hard week trying to keep him still and to not move around too much. I can't wait for this bronchitis to go away!

I took this picture on my cell phone the other day. P grabbed his doodle pad and a pillow and settled into the laundry basket to relax. He is such a goof!

Baby Bump and Stuff -

Here is a picture of my baby bump as of March 1, 2009 (Sorry for the grainy photo. My photoshop skillz could be much better!)

This is me posing (and flaunting my bump) at my cousin's wedding reception on March 7, 2009. I'm such a nerd and proud of it! (By the way, congratulations Cory and Jennifer!!!)

This picture of my dad is actually P's first photograph. Grammy helped him hold the camera and helped him push the button but he did take it! I'm quite proud!

Here are some of my favorite guys! J is such a wonderful husband and I couldn't ask for more! P is such a cheese ball and he makes life fun and interesting! My dad, Steve, is an awesome dad and boss! I am one blessed girl to have such good men in my life!

Happy Birthday Maria! -

Last Saturday, March 7th, we celebrated the birthday of J's sister, Maria. We went up to IF in the morning and we, J's parents, and Maria and her family went to the museum to see the Titanic exhibit. I'd like to go back, minus P, to really be able to appreciate it. I've always loved learning about the Titanic and seeing the artifacts. I know Steven, Maria's husband, considers me a huge nerd because I went and saw the movie in the theater three times. WHATEVER STEVEN! I was a teenager, what do you expect! ;-)

After seeing the exhibit, we went to Red Robin for lunch. Here are some pics.

After lunch, we went back to Steven and Maria's house and hung out for a bit and had birthday cake. Overall, it was a great day. I love being close (in proximity) to most of J's family and being able to celebrate with them. They are awesome and I feel so blessed to have brothers and sisters!

This Past Week -

Hey all! I hope all is well for you. We have been doing well. We celebrated the birthday of my sister-in-law, Maria, yesterday and also celebrated the wedding of my cousin, Cory. I'll post pictures from our day with Maria in another post. These are just a few pictures that we took through the week.

We've been slowly drywalling our family room. I'm not much help but I try. I usually stand on a chair and hold the drywall while J screws it on. The other day I decided to stand on the desk and use my back and head to hold it. Now, don't think that I have an abusive husband. He didn't leave me there struggling to get a picture. The drywall was screwed on enough that it would hold by itself but I wanted a picture for prosperity's sake!

As you can see, the walls and the ceiling are all covered in dark cedar wood planks. It is okay but just not really our style. It is dark in there, even with all the windows, and we want it to be lighter. So we've been slowly but surely getting the drywall up. I'm really excited to see how it will look when it is finished!

Here is P "helping" Daddy exercise. He loves to "help" and that means that Dad doesn't get much exercising done. P loves to wrestle and attacks J whenever he gets on the floor to do push-ups, crunches, or whatever!


This is P playing dead. I think it is so cute. He shuts his eyes and his mouth hangs wide open. He usually plays dead for a few seconds during his wrestling sessions with Daddy.
